THE CORNELIA STREET CAFE has announced an exciting schedule of events for the month of October full of diverse musical styles for all kinds of musical tastes!
On Thursday, September 16th, Cornelia Street Cafe welcomes Po'Jazz to present Vocollaboration, featuring Kendra Shank, Alison Wedding, Kate Richards and Nik Munson. This event is hosted by Golda Solomon and consists of two sets, one at 6pm and one at 7pm. Doors open at 5:30pm for early dining and imbibing. Cost of admission is $15 or $10 for students (with ID) and includes one drink. There is no extra charge for staying for the second set.

The Quintet, a group lead by the pianist Aruán Ortiz, is inspired by eccletic influences such as Afro-Cuban music, jazz, contemporary classical composition and visual arts, etc. as the impetus for generating musical material. The idea of creating an ensemble that pushes boundaries and expands the language of the music from the foundation of jazz has been Aruán's goal since its beginning.
In May 1977 three artists--Robin Hirsch, a writer and director; Charles McKenna, an actor; and Raphaela Pivetta, a visual artist--stumbled across a tiny storefront on Cornelia Street in the heart of Greenwich Village and thought it the perfect place to open a café.

With the new release of LANDMARC, tenor saxophonist Marc Mommaas will be performing at the Cornelia Street Cafe (29 Cornelia Street) with his long time collaborator Tony Moreno on drums including Nate Radley and Vic Juris on Guitars Wednesday, May 26 at 8:30 PM.
