For fans of McDonagh's outrageous dramaturgy, Keegan Theatre's production of The Lonesome West should be truly satisfying, especially now that the dog days of summer are upon us.  Although the playwright's aim is uneven at times, director Mark A. Rhea has assembled a stellar cast that fearlessly tackles it all. 

Kristin Piacentile is currently starring as Janis Joplin in A Night with Janis Joplin at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY, where she portrays the legendary singer for three performances per week.

Missteps aside, it's good to see Keegan back in action, and I look forward to what it offers next at their lovely intimate theatre space.

The Keegan Theatre presents Tennessee Williams' masterpiece Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the inaugural production in the company's renovated theatre. The show will open on June 27, 2015, and will run through July 26, 2015.

The Keegan Theatre tries their own hand at The Woman in Black under the direction of Colin Smith and Mark A. Rhea. The show features two actors: Matthew Keenan and Robert Leembruggen who play the Actor and Mr. Kipps, respectively. Another character lurks around the set dressings and fixtures, without a face and without a voice. You will not find her in your play program, nor at the curtain call, yet she is there. She is the woman in black.

Opening as it does at the tail end of the Lenten season, Keegan Theatre seems to be offering 'Behanding' as a welcome antidote to the awe and reverence of the season (are you dreading the family Seder before it's even started? Sick to death of Easter eggs and plastic grass? Suffering from Pope Francis fatigue already? Have we got a show for you …). Although not without its moments of drag and indecision the production is still guaranteed to leave you rolling in the aisles at the utter shamelessness of it all.

'All My Sons' is one of Keegan's strongest straight play productions in recent years. It's highly recommended.

The full cast and creative team is anounced for the Keegan Theatre's production of The Hostage, by Brendan Behan. Directed by Mark A. Rhea, the production will play the Church Street Theater, February 21-March 9.
