MAURICE HINES TAPPIN' THRU LIFE is a swinging, song and dance musical that celebrates the astonishing showmanship of one of the last great tap dancers of a by-gone era still working today and whose collaborators were a jaw-dropping, who's who of theatre, music, film and television. Co-starring the fierce tap dancing Manzari brothers and the all female vivacious Diva Jazz Orchestra, the show is directed by Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Deaf West's Big River, Grease). Performances began December 23rd at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street), and opening night is tonight, January 11th.
Pride Films & Plays to Present 'JUDY GARLAND AND LIZA MINNELLI'

Pride Films and Plays will enliven the New Year by bringing back two leading actresses from its recent acclaimed production of the musical The Boy From Oz in a new show entitled Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli - Once in a Lifetime: The London Palladium Concert - a Tribute, featuring Nancy Hays (as Judy Garland) and Michelle Lauto (as Liza Minnelli), with music direction and orchestral arrangements by Robert Ollis (co-producer). This loving musical tribute recalls the historic concert by these two famous performers at the London Palladium, just as Liza's singing career was beginning to take off. The Boy from Oz veterans Cameron Turner (choreography) and John Nasca (costume design) will round out the creative team for this dynamic new show.

This past Monday marked the opening night of the American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) as they returned to New York City. Founded and Produced by Artistic Director Nikki Feirt Atkins, ADM21 is dedicated to creating a living and vibrant archive of classic and current notable musical theater choreography. Continuing the legacy of the late Lee Theodore, who established the original American Dance Machine in 1976 until her death in 1987, and believed that "many great choreographic works are lost with the musical they once embellished," the impetus to preserve these dances drove Theodore and continues to drive Ms. Atkins.

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) returns to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue), playing through Sunday, January 3rd. Nikki Feirt Atkins is Founder and Producing Artistic Director of ADM21. Directed by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Wicked, Sweet Charity revival, Aida, The Who's Tommy), this year's program includes theatre dances from 'Broadway and Beyond' with live music provided by musical director Eugene Gwozdz. This return to The Joyce follows last year's sold out performances and promises once again, to rekindle old memories for theater dance enthusiasts and spark the imagination of audiences not yet familiar with these masterpieces. New Play CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY to Open in January at Robert Moss Theater

CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY, a documentary-style play by playwright Rich Orloff (Funny as a Crutch), based on interviews he conducted with leaders of Tea Party groups around the country, will have its world premiere and begin performances at The Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street, 3rd floor) on Saturday, January 30th. Directed by four-time Carbonell Award winner Lynnette Barkley, the play will open Monday, February 1st at 7pm. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at www.chattingwiththeteaparty.com.
