'The Temperamentals' the critically acclaimed and award-winning play by Jon Marans ,Off Broadway at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) will close on May 30th. Daryl Roth, Stacy Shane and Martian Entertainment are presenting the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan (recently on Broadway 'In The Next Room') portrays Harry Hay. Michael Urie (from TV's 'Ugly Betty') is Rudi Gernreich. Arnie Burton (an original cast member of Broadway's '39 Steps') joined the cast in multiple roles. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. It is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The Set & Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting by Josh Bradford and Daniel Kluger is the sound designer.

Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is one of the foremost AIDS charities on Broadway and their four yearly benefits provide not only help to those who need it most, but also provide thrilling showcases for the vast talent on Broadway and off, raising tens of millions of dollars a year for AIDS-related charities. The President of the BC/EFA, Tom Viola, is receiving a Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre for his work as an individual this year, as the organization itself has already been singled out for their amazing work by the Tony committee. Here, Viola discusses his feelings on the Tonys, the origins of the many yearly benefits such as Broadway Bares and Easter Bonnet Competition, in addition to his earliest theatrical memories.

On May 17, the Administration Committee of the American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards® announced that they will award a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre to the Midtown North and South New York City Police Precincts. This honor is in recognition of the precincts' many years of outstanding service to Manhattan's Theatre District. The precincts were selected by the Administration Committee for the Tony Honor in April, along with three other honorees: the Alliance for Resident Theatres New York (A.R.T./New York); B.H. Barry and Tom Viola.

Doris Eaton Travis passed away today at the age of 106. Ms. Travis was one of the legendary Ziegfeld Follies Girls and a longtime friend of Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS having made many memorable appearances in their annual EASTER BONNET COMPETITION.

Doris Eaton Travis, the one-time Ziegfeld Follies star (and last surviving Ziegfeld girl), who was still kicking at the age of 106 at this year's Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS Easter Bonnnet competition on April 26-27, has passed away this morning. Here's a look at her in this year's 'Gaga for Broadway' opening number from The 24th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition (April 2010) featuring a giant bonnet designed by Project Runway finalist Chris March, 50 Broadway singers and dancers and the 106 year old former Ziegfeld Follies girl. The Easter Bonnet Competition is Broadways annual spring event, a celebration of song, dance, sketches and highly architectural headgear benefiting Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

The Tony Awards® Administration Committee has announced this year's recipients for the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Isabelle Stevenson Award and the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre. These awards will be presented at the 2010 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 13th. The 2010 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing.

Point Foundation (Point), the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students of merit, last night honored the recipients of its Courage, Inspiration and Legend Awards. 30 Rock star and Tony Award winner (Nine) Jane Krakowski, received the Point Courage Award; Citi received the Point Inspiration Award; author, political strategist and civil rights activist David Mixner received the Point Legend Award. The awards were presented at Point's annual New York benefit, Point Honors, which was held on April 19, 2010 at 583 Park Avenue in New York City.

The 24th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns benefit, held on Saturday March 27, honored famed director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell. Featured performers included actors from 'Football Strip' and Stimulus Package,' Broadway star Terri White, music artist Crystal Waters, pop singers Kristine W. and Kelly King, and drag queens Coco Peru and and Jesse Volt.
