Eric Rosen, artistic director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, opens the Rep's 2009-10 season with the Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim. Broadway director Moisés Kaufman will direct.

Porchlight Music Theatre will open its 15th Anniversary 2009-2010 season with the romantic comedy classic The Fantasticks at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 West Belmont. The production begins previews September 11, opens September 13 at 2:30 p.m. and runs through November 15, 2009. Sean Kelly directs the musical, which has been a worldwide phenomenon for almost 50 years.

In preparation for the opening of the theater's renovated complex in Southwest D.C., Arena Stage has undertaken ARENA RESTAGED-a two-year festival of American voices. Part Two will continue the remarkable exploration of American work and provide the theater with necessary time to move into the new Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in time for the Fall 2010 opening.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Ray Cullom, will present the beloved musical The Fantasticks, directed by Amanda Dehnert, from October 7 through November 1, 2009, on the Mainstage.

Posters for 'Dr. No,' 'The Great Escape,' 'In the Heat of the Night,' 'Ragtime' and dozens of other films will be on display in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' new exhibition, 'Art of the Movie Poster: Illustrated One-Sheets and Design Concepts from the Paul Crifo Archive,' opening on Thursday, September 17, in the Academy's Grand Lobby Gallery in Beverly Hills. Admission is free.

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's masterpiece Into the Woods opens in previews at Kansas City Repertory Theatre September 11. Opening night is September 18; the show closes October 4. Tony Award nominee Moisés Kaufman directs.

A host of film and theater celebrities will celebrate the posthumous release of Remember How I Love You: Love Letters from an Extraordinary Marriage, Jerry and Elaine Orbach's autobiographical memoir recounting their thirty year marriage, at a once-in-a-lifetime reunion of the couple's colleagues at The Snapple Theater Center on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 5:30 PM.

Single tickets for Long Wharf Theatre's 2009-10 season will go on sale Tuesday, September 8 at 10 a.m.

Long Wharf Theatre announces the cast of its upcoming production of The Fantasticks, book and lyrics by Tom Jones, music by Harvey Schmidt, directed by Amanda Dehnert. The play will run from October 7-November 1 on Mainstage.

Don Farber and Robert Viagas, authors of The Amazing Story of The Fantasticks, will hold a conversation and Q&A before the Thursday, September 17, 2009 performance of The Fantasticks, the world's longest-running musical, entitled 'The Fantasticks: The Secrets Behind A Long-Running Show - How They Did It And How You Can, Too.' The event, which begins at 6:15 PM at The Snapple Theater Center, is part of the yearlong celebration of The Fantasticks' 50th anniversary.

Coming off of a streak of some of the most successful seasons to date, William Pullinsi, Artistic Director, announces Theatre at the Center's 20th anniversary season, filled with some of the most popular productions of all time and an area premiere. All of the 2010 season titles have marked, and will mark, a 'first' for the history of Theatre at the Center.

Parison Jr., have announced its fall 2009 season productions of The Fantasticks, a staged reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later (An Epilogue), and the return of Golden Globe winner Amanda McBroom.
