Today Starz revealed that Emily Watson (The Theory of Everything, War Horse) has joined the cast as 'Her Ladyship'

The West End transfer of the Young Vic's production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge opened last night at the Wyndham's Theatre. Mark Strong leads the cast as Eddie Carbone and is joined by Emun Elliott as Marco, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Richard Hansell as Louis, Luke Norris as Rodolpho and Nicola Walker as Beatrice.

Sam Mendes directs Shakespeare's KING LEAR, opening in the Olivier Theatre on 23 January. Simon Russell Beale plays the title role; the cast also includes Stephen Boxer (as Gloucester), Cassie Bradley, Tom Brooke (Edgar), Richard Clothier, Jonathan Dryden Taylor, Kate Fleetwood (Goneril), Simon Manyonda, Anna Maxwell Martin (Regan), Daniel Millar, Michael Nardone, Gary Powell, Adrian Scarborough (Fool), Hannah Stokely, Stanley Townsend (Kent), Sam Troughton (Edmund), Olivia Vinall (Cordelia) and Ross Waiton. Variety reports that producer Sonia Friedman has confirmed the news that Jez Butterworth's smash play 'Jerusalem,' which starred Mark Rylance in its Royal Court debut this past summer, will transfer to London's West End in January 2010 with an expected bow on Broadway to follow.

Moira Buffini's new play Dying for It, freely adapted from Erdman's The Suicide, opened on March 15th after beginning previews at London's Almeida Theatre on March 8th.
