The Pasadena Playhouse has announced that full casting is complete for the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls). The five-week limited engagement performs June 14 - July 17, 2011 with the official press opening on June 26, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2010-2011 season with Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason directed by associate artist Jessica Thebus. The production features ensemble member Sally Murphy with Stephen Louis Grush. Sex with Strangers closes May 15, 2011 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St.

The producers of Stephen Adly Guirgis' hit new Tony® nominated Best Play THE MOTHER WITH THE HAT (aka The Motherf**ker with the Hat), starring Chris Rock, announced today that the limited engagement has been extended by three weeks and will now play through Sunday, July 17th at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). In celebration of its 50 year anniversary, the critically-acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will open on Broadway Saturday, October 13, 2012-exactly 50 years to the date after the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962.
