Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company bring to life a story of community and hope with the lyrics of the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

On September 7, Curtain Call will open its 27th season with Todd Kreidler's adaptation of that hit film based on the Academy Award-winning screenplay by William Rose. It will play in The Dressing Room Theatre through September 24.

According to The New York Times, the unique musical is getting a second chance at Atlanta's True Colors Theater Company, co-founded by 'Holler' director Kenny Leon in 2002.

The Guthrie Theater today announced the final two of nine productions to be offered as part of the theater's 2017-2018 subscription season: Indecent, a new play with music by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), conceived by Vogel and Rebecca Taichman; and the Guthrie's first production of the iconic American musical West Side Story, directed by Joseph Haj.

Under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Stephen J. Albert, Executive Director,Court Theatre announces that it will present the Asolo Repertory Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse and Arena Stage production of The Originalistby John Strand, featuring Edward Gero as Antonin Scalia and directed by Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith, to conclude its 63rd season. As previously announced, the production will run May 10 - June 10, 2018 at Court Theatre, 5535 S Ellis Avenue, Chicago.

Twenty Chicago high school students will once again compete in the finals of the August Wilson Monologue Competition for a chance to represent Chicago in the National Competition at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.  Hundreds of students competed across the city in preliminary rounds. The finals will be held at the Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn St on Monday, March 6, 2017 at6:00 pm. The August Wilson Monologue Competition is free and open to the public.
