The hysterical new musical Academia Nuts has been selected to kick off the first week of the celebrated New York Musical Theatre Festival with performances from July 9-13, 2014 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). Academia Nuts has book and lyrics by Becca Anderson & Dan Marshall, and music by Julian Blackmore, with direction by Thomas Caruso, musical direction by Martyn Axe, and choreography by Ryan Kasprzak. On Monday, June 23rd, 2014 CAP21 will celebrate its 21st birthday with an epic celebration-The 21st Birthday Bash-at its home at 18 W. 18th Street, 5th and 6th Floors, New York, NY. The event will begin at 7pm with a cocktail hour in the CAP21 Theatre lobby on the 5th floor and will include wine and light hors d'oeuvres. A birthday party concert will begin at 7:30pm in the CAP21 Theatre on the 5th floor, featuring highlights from past CAP21 Theatre Company productions and prominent CAP21 alumni sharing favorite musical moments from their student days. An After-Party Celebration will follow the concert.

Just last night, Patti LuPone stepped back into the role that led to her Olivier Award, and being cast as the original Fantine in LES MISERABLES, in The Cradle Will Rock at 7pm at Broadway's Bernard Jacobs Theatre, 242 West 45th Street. The one-night concert of Marc Blitzstein's iconic work benefits The Acting Company, which LuPone founded alongside Kevin Kline, John Houseman and Margot Harley.
