A+E Networks® UK has acquired the exclusive linear TV rights for the multi Emmy®-award winning epic STARZ Original adventure-drama series, Black Sails

The Sydney's Theatre community gathered at the 2014 SYDNEY THEATRE AWARDS tonight for the 10th annual celebration of the best of the past year's work as judged by The Sydney Reviewers.

Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2014, which will be presented at a gala ceremony on Monday January 19, 2015 at 6pm at the Paddington RSL.

It was announced today that the 2015 programming and management for the iconic Old Fitzroy Theatre at the Old Fitzroy Hotel in Woolloomooloo has been awarded to Red Line Productions, run by Andrew Henry, Sean Hawkins and Vanessa Wright. Red Line Productions most recently produced the critically acclaimed sell out hit production Howie The Rookie at the Old Fitz Theatre, directed by Toby Schmitz and starring Andrew Henry and Sean Hawkins.

Highly acclaimed and much-loved Australian actor, playwright and director Toby Schmitz returns home to direct Andrew Henry (All My Sons, Sydney Theatre Award nomination) and Sean Hawkins (Bell Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing) in a strictly limited season of Howie The Rookie at Sydney's Old Fitzroy Theatre from 30 September to 25 October.

The 13th Annual Helpmann Awards were presented tonight live in Sydney at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House and broadcast on Foxtel's Arena. Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced that the network has picked up a second season of the original series, 'Black Sails' from executive producer Michael Bay in advance of its first season premiere. The announcement comes on the heels of the exclusive fan screening at San Diego Comic-Con several months in advance of its on-air premiere in January, 2014. The eight-episode first season of the authentic pirate adventure centers on the tales of Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his men, and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'Treasure Island.'

Fans lined up on Thursday, July 18th for an exclusive Comic Con screening of the highly anticipated high-seas STARZ Original drama BLACK SAILS from Executive Producer Michael Bay.

The cast and creators will kick off the previously announced fan-only screening scheduled for Thursday night in San Diego. Additional surprise guest to be announced closer to Comic-Con.

Richard Roxburgh and Hugo Weaving are reunited with Uncle Vanya director Tamas Ascher to give their all for a cornerstone of 20th century theatre, Beckett's Waiting for Godot; and Tim Minchin and Toby Schmitz take on another of theatre's great double acts directed by Simon Phillips in Stoppard's comic masterpiece Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

Sydney Theatre Company will present PYGMALION by George Bernard Shaw between 31 January and 3 March 2012.
