THE MEETING to Honor THE LITTLE MERMAID at Joe's Pub, 3/15

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, March 15 at 9:30 PM to continue the Winter/Spring 2015 Season. The February show will be a celebration of the The Little Mermaid. Tracy Stark serves as the show's Music Director with special guests will be announced.

DreamCatcher Theatre's JJ Caruncho Writes About Unconventional INTO THE WOODS Casting

DreamCatcher Theatre is currently presenting INTO THE WOODS in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center as part of their Theater Up Close Season. Featuring some unconventional casting, the show stars Broadway's Tituss Burgess (starring in the upcoming Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) as The Witch and Arielle Jacobs (In the Heights) as The Baker's Wife.

The February show will be a celebration of International Bottom Appreciation Day, the holiday traditionally held on February 15, the day after Valentine's Day. BROADWAY BACKWARDS 2015 Sets All-Star Lineup: Brian Stokes Mitchell, Florence Henderson, Jackie Hoffman & More!

The 10th annual edition of Broadway Backwards will celebrate some of the most memorable numbers from previous years and feature the return of many of the show's most popular performers. The one-night-only performance is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York.

STAGE TUBE: On This Day for 1/10/15- THE LITTLE MERMAID

Today in 2008, The Little Mermaid opened at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre, where it ran for 685 performances. The Little Mermaid is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical's book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman (written for the film) and new lyrics by Glenn Slater. The musical had a pre-Broadway tryout in Denver, Colorado in July through early September 2007. The original cast featured Sierra Boggess in the title role of Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric, Brian D'Addario and Trevor Braun alternate as Flounder, Norm Lewis as King Triton, Sherie Rene Scott as Ursula, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Tyler Maynard as Flotsam, Derrick Baskin as Jetsam, Jonathan Freeman as Grimsby, and John Treacy Egan as Chef Louis.
