Tickets are now on sale for American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 40th Anniversary Season, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel and Music Director George Manahan. This season includes eight world premieres by a diverse set of composers performed by ACO at Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space, and continues the orchestra's commitment to serve as a catalyst for the creation of new orchestral music, providing unprecedented opportunities for American composers to create new work and for audiences to discover it. Founded in 1977, ACO remains the only orchestra in the world dedicated exclusively to the creation, performance, preservation, and promulgation of music by American composers. To date, ACO has performed music by 800 American composers, including 350 world premieres and newly commissioned works. ACO takes its commitment to fostering new work beyond the stage in its annual Underwood New Music Readings for emerging composers, now in its 26th year in New York, and through its program EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, which brings the Readings experience to orchestras across the country in partnership with American Composers Forum, the League of American Orchestras, and New Music USA.
On Saturday, November 26, iconic American composer Philip Glass will be awarded The Eleventh Glenn Gould Prize at an exclusive concert in his honour, presented by The Glenn Gould Foundation and the NAC Orchestra. The Genius of Philip Glass features the NAC Orchestra led by guest conductor Dennis Russell Davies performing a concert of music spanning the legendary composer's career.

The 2016 BUTI summer season, which will take place at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA, June 20-August 13, features expanded concert programming; a new Opera Intensive featuring two full-length performances of Die Fledermaus; a 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert highlighting alumni and featuring new commissions; a new Visiting Artist Residency Program with composer Nico Muhly and pianist Simone Dinnerstein; workshops led by distinguished performers and teachers from Boston University and the Boston Symphony Orchestra including new workshops in violin, viola, and cello; and rich programs of learning and performance. Led by Executive Director Hilary Field Respass, BUTI is the only program of its kind associated with one of the world's great symphony orchestras, the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Carnegie Hall presents a joint concert by Timo Andres and Gabriel Kahane-composers, performers, and long-time friends-on Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall. The program encompasses music from the past four centuries with vocal and piano works by J.S. Bach, Charles Ives, Benjamin Britten, Jerome Kern, Thomas Ades, and Andrew Norman, along with the New York premieres of new works the composers have written for each other. On Monday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall presents three-time Grammy Award-winning instrumental sextet eighth blackbird performing the New York premiere of Hand Eye by the composers' collective Sleeping Giant. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2016, eighth blackbird was recently nominated for its fourth Grammy Award for the ensemble's latest recording Filament. The group's new project, Hand Eye, was co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall for its 125 Commissions Project, in which at least 125 new works will be commissioned over the next five seasons in celebration of the Hall's 125th anniversary.

-This season, the eighteen young professional musicians of Ensemble ACJW continue their two-year fellowship program with concerts at Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, Skidmore College, National Sawdust, and in community venues throughout New York City. In a particular season highlight, Ensemble ACJW leads a residency in Paris in cooperation with The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations from November 15-20 that will consist of workshops at local Paris schools led by the ACJW fellows as well as concerts at Theatre du Chatelet and Studio Bastille. The residency concert at Theatre du Chatelet on November 18 includes a performance of a work written for the group by Meredith Monk, the recent recipient of the United States National Medal of Arts. On November 19 Ensemble ACJW performs works by Boulez, Michael Jarrell, and Phillippe Leroux at Studio Bastille, conducted by Jean-Christophe Vervoitte, horn player with France's noted Ensemble intercontemporain. Ensemble ACJW then travels to Geneva, Switzerland on November 20 for a performance at the Abbaye de Bonmont.

ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble opens its 2015-2016 season with a concert presented by Five Boroughs Music Festival at 7pm on Friday, September 11, 2015 at National Opera Center's Scorca Recital Hall. The program features music by ACME members Timo Andres (solo piano piece TBA), Caleb Burhans (Jahrzeit for string quartet), and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw (Gustave Le Grey), as well as Meredith Monk's rarely performed string quartet Stringsongs and Charles Ives' Piano Trio, Op. 86. The group will also present the world premiere of 5×5, a suite of five movements commissioned by Five Boroughs Music Festival, featuring musical contributions by each of the five composer-performers on the program - Shaw, Andres, and Burhans plus violinist Ben Russell and cellist/ACME artistic director Clarice Jensen. ACME players for this concert are Caroline Shaw and Ben Russell, violins; Caleb Burhans and Caitlin Lynch, violas; Clarice Jensen, cello; and Timo Andres, piano.
