Broadway Revival of GODSPELL to be Presented in Concert at Lyric Theatre, 19 May

The Broadway Revival of Godspell will be performed in Concert at The Lyric Theatre on Shaftsbury Avenue, for one night only, on Monday 19th May 2014 in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, who grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

The new documentary Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love is the American Masters series' Season 27 finale, premiering nationally Friday, December 27, 2013, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and available on DVD January 14, 2014 via PBS Distribution. The film had its New York City premiere last night, and attendees included: Quincy Jones, David Zippel, Annaleigh Ashford, Baayork Lee & more. On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.

The Children's Playhouse of MD, in residence at CCBC Essex, will perform Disney's "Beauty and the Beast, Jr." the weekends of Dec. 7-8, 14-15, 21 and 22 at 1 pm in the Administration Building Lecture Hall at CCCB Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. On Dec. 15, an additional 4 pm. performance will be given. The Dec. 7 performance will include American Sign Language interpretation by students of the CCBC Interpreter Preparation program. Disney's Aladdin, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award®-winning animated film, begins performances at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on February 26th, 2014 for a March 20 opening. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, the show features music by Tony Award® and eight-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken(Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sister Act), lyrics by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman(Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (Evita, Aida) and two-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Beguelin, and is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw(The Book of Mormon). The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts today announced the opening of Andrew Lloyd Webber's all-new stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, which will run tonight, Dec. 4-29 at the Ordway in Saint Paul, Minn. This national production features the original music by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg from the 1939 Oscar-winning film, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
