Today, in honor of Disney's newest animated feature film musical FROZEN topping the charts as both the #1 film and its soundtrack becoming the #1 album in the country, we are taking a look at some of the biggest Disney blockbusters to date - and the unforgettable musical moments within them.

Disney's Aladdin, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award®-winning animated film, begins performances at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on February 26th, 2014 for a March 20 opening. 'Year of the Composer' is an ambitious theatrical offering that brings musical greats Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cole Porter, and ABBA to the professional non-profit theater group that performs at the G&L Theatre in North Naples.

Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) presents an all-student production of the hit family musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, on Saturday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the New England Chapel, 40 Kenwood Circle, in Franklin. Based on the biblical Joseph story, the lively Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical boasts catchy songs of many musical styles. The colorful and uplifting show for audiences of all ages features FSPA students in all levels of musical theater.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary season, the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists. IN LOVE AND WARCRAFT, the 10th competition winner, will premiere on the Hertz Stage January 31 - February 23, 2014. Opening night is February 5, 2014. IN LOVE AND WARCRAFT is written by Madhuri Shekar, a recent graduate of the MFA program at the University of South California, and will be directed by Laura Kepley, Artistic Director of the Cleveland Play House.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, is returning to the San Diego Civic Theatre tonight, January 7-12, 2014 as part of Broadway/San Diego's 2013-2014 Season.

On Tuesday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m., ASU Gammage will honor veterans, active duty military and their families during a Heroes Night celebration on the opening night performance of THE WIZARD OF OZ. That evening, veterans and military will enjoy a hero's celebration prior to the show with special presentations, giveaways and more. The celebration will feature a pre-show performance by 108th Army Band in the box office plaza; interactive booths from our Military partners; and a pre-show salute from the Gammage stage.

In 1991, the animated feature Beauty and the Beast became the first 'cartoon' to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Prompted by the unprecedented success of the film, and by critics who likened the music to a Broadway score, Disney executives began to develop a stage version with an eye toward the Great White Way, where it would capture the heart of every child in the audience.
