Darren Criss made his return to Broadway last night in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival.

Darren Criss returns to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting tonight, April 29 at the Belasco Theatre. In addition, Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange) joined HEDWIG in the role of Yitzhak earlier this month. Following today's news that Rebecca Naomi Jones will succeed Lena Hall in Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch, BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the Tony-winning production will officially hit the road!

Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch has announced that Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), will join the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, in the role of Yitzhak, beginning Tuesday April 14 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

A Twitter fan recently asked Anthony Rapp if he would consider reprising his role in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, and he gave an enthusiastically affirmative answer.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch's Tony Award winner Lena Hall will play her final performance as Yitzhak on Saturday, April 4. Hall created the role of Yitzhak at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) earning rave reviews for her performance being called 'excellent,' (New York Times), 'dazzling' (Harper's Bazaar), 'magnificent' (The Chicago Tribune), and 'simply wonderful' (The Hollywood Reporter).

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall will return to Hedwig and the Angry Inch from tonight, February 17 - Saturday, February 21. John Cameron Mitchell will continue in the show through Saturday, February 14 and will then take a one week leave to attend to a knee injury. John will return as 'Hedwig' on Tuesday, February 24 through Sunday, April 26.

As BroadwayWorld reported on Saturday, John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving. UPDATE: BroadwayWorld had just learned that the star will officially reurn to the show tonight for the scheduled 8PM performance.

Now according to the show's official Twitter page, the star is on the mend: '#JCM in good spirits. His knee being checked out by doctor. We hope he will return to Hedwig on Tuesday, our next scheduled performance.'
