The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces today that it will cancel all previously scheduled programs through April 25, 2021, due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Washington National Opera's spring productions and much of the late spring and early summer touring theater programs have been canceled.

In response to the continually evolving novel coronavirus outbreak, Round House Theatre is updating its previously announced 2020-2021 Season. The upcoming season will now include Cost of Living by Martyna Majok. The previously announced God of Carnage will be postponed until the 2021-2022 Season. All remaining shows are still slated to continue, but the schedule has been updated. The Tempest, which is expected to draw in the largest crowds, will now perform at later dates.

The Orchard Project is announcing the artists participating in its thirteenth summer theatre residency program. More than 30 artists and ensembles were selected for residencies this summer from nearly 1000 theatre artists and companies who applied.

The Lark has announced its BareBones program will return this season with a workshop production of On Every Link a Heart Does Dangle; or Owed by Tim J. Lord, directed by Meredith McDonough. The play, a radical reimagining of the Oedipus myth, will run at The Lark's BareBones Studio from May 10-19, 2019, at 311 West 43rd Street, 5th Floor, in New York City.

National New Play Network, an alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovating ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, is pleased to co-present the 13th annual MFA Playwright's Workshop (MFAPW) in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and Stanford University's National Center for New Plays. The Kennedy Center will host more than 60 theater-makers from July 28-August 5, 2018 as part of the 13th annual week-long MFA Playwrights' Workshop featuring new works by graduate students or recent MFA graduates from Iowa Playwrights' Workshop, Northwestern University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of California, San Diego.

The Playwrights' Center's annual PlayLabs new play festival runs Monday, October 23, through Sunday, October 29, 2017. Of the 70+ new plays developed at the Playwrights' Center each year, eight are selected to be part of the public season, giving playwrights expanded workshop time with collaborators and the chance to see their new work on its feet in front of two different audiences. These readings are free to attend and take place at the Playwrights' Center, located at 2301 E Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis.

Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-nine- and ten-year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Accomplished professional actors including Sue Jean Kim (theater: Aubergine; film: Maggie's Plan, Bachelorette), Omar Metwally (film: Twilight: Breaking Dawn II, Rendition; TV: "The Affair," "Mr. Robot"), Stephen O'Reilly ("Inside Amy Schumer," "Orange is the New Black," "Girls"), Annie Purcell (The Coast of Utopia, Awake & Sing) and others will perform in Infinity and Beyond: The Ultimate Plays, the Project's Fall 2016 Playmaking show.
