North Carolina's acclaimed indie-Americana quartet Mipso announce today an extensive Spring headline tour in support of their new album, Edges Run, out April 6th, 2018 via a freshly inked deal with AntiFragile Music. Mipso bring their distinctly unique sound - full of wistful beauty, hopeful undercurrents, and panoramic soundscapes - to 27 cities across North America, kicking off on April 6th in Jim Thorpe, PA at the Mauch-Chuck Opera House. From there, Mipso head up and down both the East and West Coasts and throughout the Midwest, to wrap on May 20th at Bell's Café in Kalamazoo, MI. Joining Mipso on select dates are Tom Brosseau, Madison Cunningham, Sera Cahoone, Anna Tivel, Courtney Hartman and The Lowest Pair. La Jolla Playhouse announces Hundred Days, book by The Bengsons and Sarah Gancher, music and lyrics by The Bengsons, directed by Anne Kauffman, and movement direction by Sonya Tayeh, as the final production of its 2018/2019 season, to run September 22 - October 21 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Forum.

Back in October 2017, Ultra Music released the mellow delights of Viennese artist filous with his 'For Love' EP, which spanned a range of genres and featured the likes of Mat Kearney, klei and Emily Warren. As anticipation continues to build for Myles Kennedy's debut solo album, Year Of The Tiger, another lyric video is released worldwide. The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President & CEO) announced today that the 2018 Jonathan Larson® Grants recipients areJay Adana (music and lyrics), Andrew R. Butler & Andrew Farmer (music, lyrics, and book), Emily Kaczmarek & Zoe Sarnak (music, lyrics, and book), and Mark Sonnenblick(music and lyrics). Four prestigious, unrestricted grants of $10,000 each, as well as additional support in the form of residencies, concerts, and recording grants, totaling over $48,000, will be presented on Monday, March 19, 2018 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. The event will feature special performances of the recipients' work.

MISTER ROGERS: IT'S YOU I LIKE, a celebrity-filled, hour-long special that premieres on PBS stations in March 2018(check local listings), celebrates Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, the pioneering PBS series that premiered nationally 50 years ago and became an iconic and enduring landmark in the world of children's television and beyond. Cast members from the groundbreaking series share their personal perspectives and insights in this new production, which pays tribute to television's longest-running children's series, still broadcast on many PBS stations today. The program also features interviews with numerous celebrities who have been influenced and inspired by Fred Rogers, a modest man who always said, “I am not a teacher, I simply help children learn.”

Casting has been announced for the World Premiere of Great Apes from the novel by Will Self; reimagined for the stage by Patrick Marmion. Great Apes is a new play by Patrick Marmion directed by RSC and Donmar actor Oscar Pearce (Wolf Hall, Real Thing), based on the novel by Will Self opening at the Arcola Theatre on Monday 19th March.

From The Charleston to The Great American Sognbook, with Scott Joplin, Marilyn Monroe and even Yidish, the brilliant piano duo Stephanie Trick (USA) and Paolo Alderighi (Italy) performed their arrangements of songs and tunes by all these and many more while performing on a tour around Israel as part of the Hot Jazz Series.

WP Theater and The Bushwick Starr, in association with New Georges, are pleased to announce that due to popular demand, [PORTO], the upside-down romantic comedy written by Obie Award Winner Kate Benson (Super Magic Wild Forest, Desert) and directed by Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans (Bull in a China Shop, Caught), will extend. Previously scheduled through February 25,[PORTO] will now play its final performance on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at WP Theater (2162 Broadway).

The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists.  Sheltered, the 14th competition winner, is the story of one American couple's harrowing decision to rescue 50 Jewish children from Europe during WWII.  Sheltered is written by Alix Sobler who recently earned her MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University. During the Alliance's season-long renovation, Sheltered will be staged at Actor's Express, March 1 - 25, 2018. 

The Lovett School in metro Atlanta presented Peter Pan on February 8-10 in the Hendrix-Chenault Theater. The production was directed by Natalie Pitchford. Musical direction was provided by Amy Little and choreography by Rebecca Metzger Hirsch. The orchestra was led by Dr. Tim Pitchford.

Part comedy, part mystery and part rock concert, playwright Lauren Yee's Cambodian Rock Band explores an overlooked chapter of history-1970s Cambodia with its vibrant surf-rock music scene and then under the Khmer Rouge regime. The play features songs by the Long Beach-based band Dengue Fever. The world premiere of this South Coast Repertory commission is directed by Chay Yew on the Julianne Argyros Stage, March 4-25. Following a sell-out season at the Abbey Theatre as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the 1916 Easter Rising, as well as a successful Irish and US tour, The Plough and the Stars comes to the Lyric Hammersmith as a co-production with the Abbey Theatre.
