Full Cast Announced For Damsel Productions World Premiere Of Tabitha Mortiboy's THE AMBER TRAP

Hannah Hauer-King and Kitty Wordsworth co-founded Damsel Productions in 2015 to place women's voices centre stage. Damsel Productions hopes to be one cog in a larger and crucial movement addressing both the misrepresentation and under-representation of women in theatre. The idea is simple: to bring together women directors, producers, designers and all other creatives to breathe life into scripts exclusively written by women. Damsel Productions aim to provoke, inspire and entertain with true and honest representations of the female experience. Critically successful productions include the UK premiere of Ruby Rae Spiegel's Dry Land (Jermyn Street Theatre), Izzy Tennyson's Brute (Soho Theatre), Phoebe Eclair-Powell's Fury (Soho Theatre), Izzy Tennyson's Grotty (The Bunker) and Abi Zakarian's Fabric (Soho Theatre & London community centre Tour). Damsel also recently produced London's first ever all women directing festival Damsel Develops at The Bunker.

Never one to let any moss grow under her feet, Western Kentucky University's Hilarie Spangler is crazy-busy leading up to her college graduation in a couple of months, with the near-future mapped out for the young woman who started her theater career as a youngster in community productions in Middleboro, Kentucky.

ReelAbilities Film Festival Announces Special Guests & Events

The 11th  Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York of the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is proud to take the audience beyond its outstanding selection of films with an array of special events and speakers that enhance the weeklong festival. Highlights will include a disability comedy night at Gotham Comedy Club, led by “Seinfeld” actor Danny Woodburn and many esteemed comedians, and a fashion and design event at Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. The festival will also feature industry-related panels such as Writing Disability with Nancy Silberkleit, CEO of Archie Comics,  Alexandra Cassel, a writer for the children's television program “Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood,” and award-winning director Jason DaSilva. Additionally, the festival will open its doors for free daytime screenings for schools and educators. Jamestown Revival's New Album SAN ISABEL Out 6/14, THIS TOO SHALL PASS Premieres At Rolling Stone

Jamestown Revival's highly anticipated new album, San Isabel, will be released June 14 onThirty Tigers and is now available for pre-order. In advance of the release, the band's new song, “This Too Shall Pass,” premiered yesterday at Rolling Stone (listen/share HERE). Of the track, Rolling Stone praises, “…bright harmonies and loping guitar patterns…an optimistic track that splits the difference between modern-day Americana and old-school folk.” Additionally, an acoustic performance video of the song, featuring band members Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance, can now be viewed/shared HERE.  

HOW TO KEEP AN ALIEN Comes to Corrib Theatre

Corrib Theatre presents Sonya Kelly's How to Keep an Alien, directed by Gemma Whelan, a comedy-filled play about two women falling in love and battling the international red tape that's working to keep them apart. The production features Sara Hennessy as Sonya Kelly, with Amy Katrina Bryan on stage as herself, the stage manager. How to Keep an Alien runs for four weeks, April 12 through May 5, at New Expressive Works, 810 SE Belmont St., in Portland, Oregon.

BWW Interview: Tom Lowe Produces Riveting Music Video POLANCO

Tom Lowe is a pop singer/composer who recently released a short video entitled 'Polanco'. It's enchanting to watch this little miraculous film about a small Mexican city and what goes on in one of its popular bars. The story is based on a real life incident in which Lowe was robbed in the back of a taxi in Mexico City. His disgust of the people eventually turned to respect and love when many came forward, helped him to survive and to produce his video. The full story is at the next to last link at the bottom of our interview and is an exciting and humanely worthwhile read. Lowe, born in England and with a multi-cultural background both here and abroad, discusses 'Polanco'and also his fascinating career thus far as an international pop singer and musical theatre actor.

Casting Announced For THE AMBER TRAP at Theatre503

Damsel Productions today announces the casting for the world premiere of Tabitha Mortiboy's The Amber Trap. Hannah Hauer-King directs Fanta Barrie (Hope), Misha Butler (Michael) and Olivia Rose Smith (Katie) with the role of Jo to be announced at a later date. The production opens on 29 April at Theatre503, with previews from 24 April and runs until 18 May.

Lincoln Center Announces 2019 Mostly Mozart Festival

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts today announced this summer's Mostly Mozart Festival, running from July 10 through August 10, 2019. Harnessing Mozart's innovative spirit as its inspiration, the 2019 festival builds upon the expanded scope established last summer with groundbreaking, international multidisciplinary productions, acclaimed artists of all genres, introductions to emerging creative voices, commissions and premieres, and the presentation of new work and ideas. A powerful and passionate production of Peter Pan dazzled audiences this past weekend at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater in Syracuse, New York. The Syracuse City Ballet out did their past productions with this high-flying adventurous ballet. Huntington Offers Free Tickets To ROMEO AND JULIET To All Young Patrons

In an effort to engage young, new audiences and offer the opportunity to experience equal representation on stage, the Huntington Theatre Company has announced that it will now offer free tickets to all young patrons 25 and under for the remainder of performances of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is now playing through March 31 at the Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston).

Giovanni Pernice is now somewhat of a stalwart amongst the professional dancer gang on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. With four seasons under his belt and a fifth to follow, he is one of the show's most recognisable faces, and now returns to local theatres for the third year running with Dance is Life, first seen in 2017, but with a largely new army of supporting dancers.
