It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Martyna Majok's COST OF LIVING has officially won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Beautifully written, with minimal sets and moments that suggest the characters are aware of the parts they're playing, this is a wonderful and enduring work of dramatic art - and one that the Milwaukee Repertory Theater carries out with ease.

THE MATCHMAKER, the basis for the Tony Award-winning musical HELLO, DOLLY!, takes center stage at the Buck Creek Playhouse (11150 Southeastern Avenue) beginning Friday, March 30th, and running two weekends through Sunday, April 8th. Curtain times are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. 

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Alli Mauzey will take over on Friday, March 23, in the role of Ernestina in Hello, Dolly! on Broadway. Jennifer Simard played her final performance yesterday, March 18.

Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, 'one of the most promising young actors to emerge in the New York Theater in recent years' (The New York Times), has stepped into the role of Cornelius Hackl in the most successful and beloved Broadway production of the year, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, Hello, Dolly!. Fontana, filling in forGavin Creel, who won a 2017 Tony Award for the role, joined the company for a limited time beginning this past Tuesday, March 13. Creel will be out of the show during this time as he recovers from back surgery.

Featuring seven productions in the MainStage lineup and two productions in the Backstage series, the season includes the world premiere of Amber Ruffin's ("Late Night with Seth Meyers") musical Bigfoot; the regional premiere of Rachel Bykowski's high school football drama Tight End; a full-scale immersive adaptation of Shakespeare's dark comedy Measure for Measure set in 1970s Las Vegas; the Las Vegas premiere of Lucas Hnath's mind (and tongue) twisting A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay about the Death of Walt Disney; intimate new stagings of the classic musical Cabaret, the adolescent angst rock musical Spring Awakening and Thornton WIlder's Our Town; the Vegas premiere of Matthew Lopez's Elvis-meets-drag queens comedy The Legend of Georgia McBride; and the world premiere of Heard's "Tales from the Crypt" tinged holiday thriller Krampus.

Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre will produce the rolling premiere of Jennifer Barclay's new play, Ripe Frenzy. The winner of the 2016 NNPN Smith Prize for Political Theatre, Ripe Frenzy tells the story of a mass shooting in a small American town. Told from multiple points of view, and through the lens of Thornton Wilder's classic play, Our Town, Barclay examines all sides of a tragedy that has ruptured the spirit a once idyllic community. Performances run from April 13 to May 6, 2018.

Two River Theater (TRT) continues their successful 2017/2018 season with the enthralling world premiere of 'The Bridge of San Luis Rey' by Thornton Wilder.
