Photo Flash: Buck Creek Players Brings Classic Farce to the Stage with THE MATCHMAKER
THE MATCHMAKER, the basis for the Tony Award-winning musical HELLO, DOLLY!, takes center stage at the Buck Creek Playhouse (11150 Southeastern Avenue) beginning Friday, March 30th, and running two weekends through Sunday, April 8th. Curtain times are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
THE MATCHMAKER, written by one of America's most beloved playwrights, Thornton Wilder, is a farcical delight set in 19th century New York City. Ms. Dolly Levi does her best to "match" up all of the young lovers...and even perhaps herself! The situation quickly turns to utter pandemonium as everyone tries to sort through identities and relationships. Yet somehow Dolly negotiates all of these complexities, bringing everything to a hysterical and happy conclusion.
