Perseverance Theatre, Alaska's professional regional theatre company, launches its 40th Anniversary Season this week with Our Town, by Thornton Wilder. The iconic American drama, featuring an all-Alaskan cast directed by Art Rotch, will play Oct. 5-Nov. 3 at the theatre in Juneau, and Nov. 9-25 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage.

Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company devoted to the Middle East, responds to our current political divide with We Swim, We Talk, We Go to War, a play that takes the form of a literal conversation on stage. While trying to navigate the currents of the Pacific, an Arab-American woman and her nephew, who has enlisted in the U.S. military, dive into the murky waters of family, identity, and politics. Stylistically adventurous and playful, We Swim expands into a nuanced dialogue about what it means to be American, Arab, and Arab-American at our current moment in time.

The Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company has announced a limited engagement of Henry James' classic horror tale The Turn of the Screw in an adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher. Under the direction of Don K. Williams, the production will feature Sean Spann and Emily Sulzberger playing a total of 10 roles between them. Opening is set for Today, September 29, at 8pm.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. The recent revival of HELLO DOLLY may have just left the Great White Way and, sure, there's a fresh tour starring Broadway legend (and Fort Worth native) Betty Buckley just around the corner…but the production currently on stage in Fort Worth is worth putting on your Sunday clothes for with a dazzling production featuring a terrific cast of characters. But this Dolly's visit is fleeting - the show concludes it two-weekend-only run at Casa Manana on Sunday, September 16th.

August 20, 2018 Director Russell Stiles has populated the mythical town of Grovers Corners, New Hampshire, with a cast of more than 20 residents who, in real life, come from ten different communities in central and southern Delaware. The village made famous in Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" is coming to life on stage at Possum Hall in Georgetown.

Following a successful debut season in 2018, artistic director Clare Watson continues her daring, imaginative programming. In 2019 the company explores 'Where the Heart Is' about family, and in particular, the myriad of Australian families. Clare sees the programme as 'a collection of characters and stories that explore belonging. 'It asks us what it means to be a citizen and belong to a community."
