Sound Bites, a ten minute musical theatre festival presented by Theatre Now New York, is now accepting submissions through September 16, 2013. Sound Bites is the first-ever ten minute musical theatre festival that accepts both ten minute musicals and ten minute excerpts of larger musicals. Any ten minute piece that can be performed and includes music qualifies.
Theatre Now New York makes its debut appearance with Cabaret, Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff, at the Pocketbook Factory, located at North 6th St. and Washington St. in Hudson, NY. It will be directed by Thomas Morrissey with choreography by Mikala Freitas and musical direction by Mary Sugar. The production opens tonight, August 2nd and runs through Sunday August 4th, and then continues Thursday August 8th through Sunday August 11th.

Theatre Now New York is disappointed to announce that plans for the much anticipated production of Cabaret at the Pocketbook Factory in Hudson, NY must grind to a halt. After one of the primary funders of the show pulled out, it was concluded that financially preparations for the show could not continue. Artistic Director Thomas Morrissey states, "We are devastated that the production of Cabaret cannot continue as planned. The people of Hudson have been so welcoming to us and we hope that they will welcome us back in the future."

Following End of the Rainbow, Royal & Derngate's Addicted to You season continues with the stage premiere of a new version of My Zinc Bed created by David Hare especially for the Royal & Derngate, which takes to the Royal stage from Friday 26 February to Saturday 13 and Honest by Northampton playwright DC Moore, which will be performed in the Mailcoach pub, adjacent to the theatre, at 6.30pm, before each evening's performance of My Zinc Bed.
