Langson IMCA presents 'Spiritual Geographies: Religion and Landscape Art in California, 1890–1930' exhibition exploring how various religions influenced representations of California's wilderness and countryside.

How do you make a classic play with just two characters and one set fresh and new? Pick a relevant time, put it against a minimalist background and cast two people who would not be considered for a traditional production.

Today, the National Civil Rights Museum announced recipients of The Freedom Award, the museum's signature event that honors outstanding individuals for their significant contributions to civil and human rights. This year's honorees are Benjamin Crump, civil rights attorney; Tawakkol Karman, Yemeni human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; The Honorable Damon Jerome Keith, longest serving judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court; Soledad O'Brien, journalist and executive producer; and Bryan Stevenson, attorney and social justice activist.

The Reading Theater Project presents upcoming modern opera, Da Ponte - The Outrageously True and Charmingly Infamous Life of that Glorious Jewish Catholic Priest, Genius Librettist who Inspired Mozart-of-All-People, Master of Italian Literature and Bringer-Of-It to America, Toothless Businessman, Pennsylvania Resident, Superb Lover of (All) Women, and So Many Other Topics and Situations. Fruitlands Museum presents two fascinating new exhibitions in the Art Museum this fall. Presented in partnership with the National Basketry Organization, All Things Considered VIII will feature a dazzling array of traditional and sculptural work made by the most accomplished contemporary basket makers from around the country.   Hidden Hudson will showcase rarely seen works from Fruitlands' renowned Hudson River School landscape collection. Both exhibitions will be on view September 18 – November 22, 2015.
