New York Philharmonic to Begin New Season of Young People's Concerts, 11/15

The 92nd season of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) will begin on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with the program 'Melody Transformed,' the first in this season's series, SUPER SONIC MUSIC BOX, exploring the variety of symphonic music and its interpretation.

New York City Arts in Education Roundtable to Host 'MOONSTRUCK MEETS STARSTRUCK' Benefit, 6/9

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable will host MOONSTRUCK MEETS STARSTUCK: A FESTIVE BENEFIT FOR THE YOUNG AT ART on Monday, June 9th at 6:00 pm at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue). This year's benefit will honor the artistry of John Patrick Shanley and support the Roundtable's programs for the hundreds of organizations and practitioners who bring arts education to the city's schools and communities.

New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts Continue with Brahms's Piano Concerto 1 Today

This season's New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) conclude with a focus on Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joshua Weilerstein and featuring pianist Paul Lewis, today, April 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. This is the final program in this season's series, Points of Entry, in which each concert explores facets of music and the orchestra itself through one influential score. The concert will also feature Brahms's Hungarian Dance No. 1 and Ritual Fire Dance from Falla's El Amor brujo.

Lincoln Center Education Kicks Off 'Next Stage' Series with Jack O'Brien, 3/13

Lincoln Center Education, the education cornerstone of Lincoln Center and a global leader in arts education and advocacy, launches Next Stage, a new candid discussion series with high-profile artists exploring the role of arts education in their creative and commercial work. The new series, launching this year and continuing on an annual basis, is aimed at early- to mid-career artists in the fields of theater, dance, music and visual arts. The high-profile artists selected to moderate and speak at the events will represent a range of ages and experience levels within their artistic disciplines, focusing on the intersection of an artist's academic and artistic pursuits and how they go hand in hand, creatively, financially and otherwise. Events of the Next Stage discussion will be hosted and presented by Lincoln Center Education, in partnership with other leading New York City arts organizations.

Tonight, Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7:30pm, Robert Sirota's The Clever Mistress (New York premiere) and Theodore Wiprud's My Last Duchess (world premiere) will be presented in a double bill as part of the 15th anniversary season of the Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival at Peter Norton Symphony Space (95th St. and Broadway, NYC). These fully staged, one-act operas - a tragedy and a comedy inspired by two Renaissance stories - will be performed with a chamber ensemble conducted by Victoria Bond, artistic director of Cutting Edge Concerts, and will be directed byTom Dulack.

The third New York Philharmonic Young People's Concert (YPC) of the 2010-11 season will take place Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Daniel Boico. The concert will focus on the Romantic era as part of the season's theme, "The Ages of Music," which explores the four major periods of orchestral music. Philharmonic Director of Education Theodore Wiprud is the host of the series, designed for youngsters 6 to 12 years of age, with programs written and directed by Tom Dulack. This concert will feature violinist Erno Kallai - one of four young violinists who are appearing as soloists on the YPCs this season - and actors Adam Alexander and Alesia Lawson.
