Amphibian Stage Productions opens its final staged reading of the 2014 season, A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney by Lucas Hnath, this Sunday, kicking off a two-performance run of the play. Greg Holt, Seth Johnston, Jenna Meador and Matthew Minor star in this infectious comedy running Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

With Fully Committed running at the Menier, and Forbidden Broadway at the Vaudeville Theatre, Artistic Director David Babani welcomes Jamie Lloyd's major revival of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins as part of Menier Chocolate Factory's 10-year anniversary season. The production opens tonight, 1 December 2014, with previews from 21 November, and runs until 7 March 2015.

What's really needed here is a good stiff drink, but unfortunately, they have the worst bartender in all of London. And this is just the beginning of the hijinks in Nell Benjamin's The Explorers Club, a co-production with WaterTower Theatre, beginning its 6-week Stage West run today, November 28. On Sunday, November 23 (7 p.m.), in a celebratory landmark performance, the company of Broadway's record-breaking hit musical CHICAGO welcomed back its four original stars -- Tony Award winners Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth, James Naughton and Joel Grey. CHICAGO has surpassed the run of iconic Broadway blockbuster CATS with a record-breaking 7,486 performances, making it the second longest-running show in Broadway history. Only one show -- The Phantom of the Opera -- has run longer than CHICAGO. BroadwayWorld was there for the after-party and brings you photos below!

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the return of David Sedaris' The Santaland Diaries, directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rosen. This hilarious send-up of David Sedaris' tale of elfin' woe in his brief, misguided career as a Macy's elf, skewers the sentimental love of all things Christmas. This show will feature Brian Sills, who starred in last year's production as Crumpet, the disgruntled Macy's holiday elf. Shanna Jones, whom audiences saw open the production last year as one half of The Shenanigans, will perform holiday musical numbers during the performance. Performances run December 6 through 24 at KC Rep's downtown Copaken Stage in the Power & Light District. Press night is Thursday, December 11, 7pm curtain. This performance, as a work of satire, contains material that might be objectionable to some audiences. Appropriate for ages 16 and up. Past production high resolution photos can be found here.

?From November 21, the Chocolate Factory presents the musical ASSASSINS by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman. Broadway favorite Aaron Tveit will make his UK stage debut as 'John Wilkes Booth', alongside Carly Bawden as Squeaky Fromme, Simon Lipkin as The Proprietor, Mike McShane as Samuel Byck, Andy Nyman as Charles Guiteau, David Roberts as Czolgosz and Catherine Tate as Sara Jane Moore. Garret Storms reprises his performance as David (Crumpet the Elf) in the WaterTower Theatre production of the David Sedaris holiday season comedy The Santaland Diaries, December 5 to 28, 2014, in the Studio Theatre at the Addison Theatre and Conference Centre. Kelsey Leigh Ervi returns to direct.
