Paola Lazaro's THERE'S ALWAYS THE HUDSON Rounds Out Reading Series at Dorset Theatre Festival

Dorset Theatre Festival incubates new works for the American stage through its New Play Reading series, which continues with Paola Lazaro, playwright of Tell Hector I Miss Him and Atlantic Theater Company's 2016/2017 Tow Playwright-in-Residence. A public reading of Lazaro's newest work, entitled There's Always the Hudson, will take place on Tuesday, August 15 at 7 pm.

New Block of Tickets Released for Immersive KPOP Run This Fall

David Carl's TRUMP LEAR to Extend at UNDER St. Marks 9/2-9/30

Due to popular demand FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Project Y Theatre Company has extended the World Premiere of Trump Lear, written and performed by David Carl, directed by Michole Biancosino and co-created by Carl and Biancosino, for additional performances September 2-30 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) every Saturday at 2pm. Ken Ludwig's ROBIN HOOD! Extends Again at The Old Globe

The Old Globe today announced that due to popular demand, the exciting Globe-commissioned world premiere comedy Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood! has now extended again, through September 10! This is the second and final extension for the hit show, which previously announced a one-week addition through September 3. The production plays in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Single tickets start at $45 and are on sale now.

ASSHOLE by Justin Kuritzkes Comes to JACK

Asshole is a bracing new play by Justin Kuritzkes about a doctor who works for the government and is obsessed with the smell of his own asshole. He has a patient whom he can't seem to get out of his mind. In fact, he finds her continued presence to be a little...disturbing. Directed and designed by Knud Adams, this world premiere features Polly Lee and Ikechukwu Ufomadu. 

HGOco Commissions New 'Song of Houston' Operas

HGOco, Houston Grand Opera's community collaboration and education arm, has launched the next phase of itsSong of Houston initiative with commissions from two rising composer/librettist teams. Home of My Ancestors, by composer Nkeiru Okoye and librettist Anita Gonzalez, will premiere in March 2019. The not-yet-titled second opera, by composer Nell Shaw Cohen and librettist Megan Cohen, will premiere in March of 2021. A third commission will be announced at a later time. The award-winning Song of Houston is an initiative within HGOco that has been creating new works based on stories that define the unique character of Houston since 2007.

Matthias (August 25 - September 23) at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, this complex collision of satire and dark comedy fearlessly explores rape culture in America and was previously developed as part of The Realm's 2014-15 Writing Fellowship.
