The New Group has announced four productions for its 2017-2018 Season.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017. 

THE JIMMY AWARDS have announced that 74 high school students from across America will compete for the award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress as well as other honors and scholarships at the ninth annual awards ceremony. The presentation will take place on Monday, June 26th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

Drew Cohen, President of Music Theatre International (MTI), announced today that MTI will represent the secondary stage performance rights to five musicals by the legendary writing team of Lerner & Loewe, including their masterpiece My Fair Lady, the beloved classics Camelot, Brigadoon and Paint Your Wagon, and their newly-restored early work, The Day Before Spring.   MTI, from June 1, will begin representing My Fair Lady in the US, the UK, and all English-language territories, and will represent the four other titles on a worldwide basis. Abingdon Theatre Company presents its first musical with the New York premiere of THE BOY WHO DANCED ON AIR, with music by Tim Rosser and book and lyrics by Charlie Sohne, winners of 2015 Jonathan Larson and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart awards. Directed by Abingdon Theatre Company Artistic Director Tony Speciale, THE BOY WHO DANCED ON AIR plays four weeks only, tonight, May 15, through June 11, at the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Opening night is Thursday, May 25 at 7PM.

For the final production of its 2016/17 season, Artists Repertory Theatre presents The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, directed by Resident Artist Michael Mendelson.  Previews run May 16 through May 19, the play opens May 20 and runs through June 11 on the Alder Stage.

Parsons Dance – under the Artistic Direction of David Parsons – will kick off its 2017 season, dedicated to the life and legacy of the company's great friend and dance advocate Alexander J. Dubé,at New York City's historic Joyce Theater from May 16 – May 28. 

John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train), Tony Award winnerJohn Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') and Corey Hawkins(Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy'), directed by Trip Cullman(Significant Other, Yen), officially opens tonight, April 25, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).
