Double Platinum selling artist Newton Faulkner joins the cast of Green Day's explosive Tony Award ® winning musical, American Idiot, on it's UK Tour. Newton will be taking on the role of Johnny from May 2016 after Matt Thorpe, who will open the role from 19 March at the Curve Theatre, Leicester until 7 May at the New Theatre, Oxford. One of the UK's finest contemporary singer-songwriters, Newton's unique style of guitar playing and soaring vocals have made him a worldwide success since he burst onto the music scene back in 2007.
Full casting has been announced for the Lyric Hammersmith and Filter Theatre Production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, co-directed by Sean Holmes and Stef O'Driscoll. Jonathan Broadbent, Ed Gaughan, John Lightbody, Victoria Moseley and Ferdy Roberts return to the cast and they will be joined by Hammed Animashaun, Andrew Buckley, Clare Dunne and Cat Simmons.

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015. Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.
AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- will begin performances on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory will present Punk Rock-Simon Stephens's (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) edgy and acclaimed play about the anxieties and fears that drive seven high-achieving students to emotional extremes. In an effort to continue its vision to provide a training ground for the next generation of theatre artists, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has launched its first-ever Directors' Studio, a series of workshops and discussions designed to investigate the craft of theatrical direction created for local, early-career directors. By application, six directors have been selected for the 2015-2016 season's Directors' Studio: Catrin Rowenna Davies, Rick Hammerly, Lee Liebeskind, Carter Lowe, Angela Kay Pirko, and Jason Schlasfstein.
Notre Dame's Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (FTT) announces LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, tonight, November 18-22 in the Decio Mainstage Theatre at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Directed and choreographed by guest artist Nathan Halvorson, who previously helmed FTT's production of Cabaret (2013), LITTLE SHOP will also feature puppets by special effects makeup artist and puppeteer RJ Haddy, who was a finalist on Season 2 of the Syfy channel's reality competition series FACE OFF.
