Arden Theatre Company Presents Philadelphia Premiere THE HISTORY BOYS 9/24-11/1, Opens 9/30

Arden Theatre Company kicks off its 2009/10 season with the Philadelphia premiere of The History Boys, Alan Bennett's international hit that explores the anarchy of adolescence and the purpose of education. The History Boys previews begin on Thursday, September 24. Opening night is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 30. The production runs through November 1.

HB Studio to Honor Stiller and Meara at Gala 11/10

The Herbert Berghof (HB) Studio and the HB Playwrights Foundation will host a tribute to the acclaimed and accomplished actors/comedians Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller in a gala celebration at The Players Club on Monday, November 10, 2008.

Opening Night is October 30 with performances running through November 15th.

The Boys From Syracuse Celebrate Grandparents Day

In honor of National Grandparents Day, all Grandparents attending the hit musical comedy The Boys from Syracuse at Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, will receive a complimentary Crème Brulee dessert on Sunday, September 7. The Flight of Crème Brulee features a decadent trio of chocolate, raspberry and vanilla flavors and will be served in the restaurant adjacent to the theater after the 2:00 p.m. performance or before the 6:00 p.m. performance. The 39 Steps' Cliff Saunders: 'Roles' Model

Eight shows a week, there is magic taking place on the stage of the Cort Theatre, four actors, no, better to describe them as magicians or alchemists or conjurers. In truth they would most likely be happy to be labeled as 'lucky stiffs' as they are able to bring joy and laughter to an audience every evening as the house lights dim, the foursome in question are the incredibly gifted cast of the Tony nominated, The 39 Steps. One talented gentleman plays the ironically billed role of 'Man 1', this would be better titled, 'Man 1000', for he seems to be playing that many roles and more, seemingly at the same time! This 'Man' is the delightfully talented, Cliff Saunders, a Canadian actor making his Broadway debut in The 39 Steps.

Shamieh's The Black Eyed Begins at NYTW July 17

New York Theatre Workshop has announced that The Black Eyed, written by Betty Shamieh, directed by Sam Gold, will begin performances Tuesday, July 17 at 8:00pm, at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery
