Northlight Theatre Presents SOUVENIR 11/12-12/20

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, continues its 35th Season with Souvenir, Stephen Temperley's true musical story of 'The Tone-deaf Diva' Florence Foster Jenkins. The production, directed by Steve Scott, runs November 12- December 20, 2009 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.

Macabaret - A Ghoulish Good Time

Alright, I have to confess that I was prepared for a night of processed cheese melting under stage lights. I personally cannot stomach holiday-themed theatre (regardless of the holiday) and this was the second Halloween-themed show I reviewed in the past three weeks. However, I am happy to say that I was completely wrong about this show. The production recalls the decadent intimacy of an old-time cabaret. If you're lucky to get in, you don't want to leave.

Porchlight Music Theater Presents MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, 11/20 - 1/3

Porchlight Music Theatre will debut a live stage production of Miracle on 34th Street based on the holiday film classic at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 West Belmont. The show plays from November 20, 2009 through January 3, 2010. The Press Opening is Sunday, November 22 at 2:30pm.
