Oak Park Festival Theatre presents acclaimed storyteller Megan Wells in her annual incarnation of Bram Stoker's Dracula as a benefit for Festival Theatre. There will be only four performances of Dracula at the National Historic Landmark Pleasant Home, 217 Home Ave. in Oak Park, on Thursday, October 7; Friday, October 15; Sunday, October 17; and Friday, October 22 at 8:00 p.m.

Pride Films and Plays, a new not-for-profit, is proud to announce its inaugural activities as an organization. The first two events scheduled are Five Decades of Great Gay Theater, May 9 - June 13, a series of staged reading of great gay plays, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 West Belmont*, and the Great Gay Screenplay Contest, held in conjunction with Chicago Filmmakers. The contest seeks new screenplays dealing with gay history, characters or themes and relevant to the world. The semi-finalists will be read this fall during Reeling: The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival.

Just in time for the end of Pride Month, Tony-winning playwright Joe DiPietro ('Memphis') has worked with Bailiwick Chicago to produce the Midwest premiere (and only third production ever) of his 2008 play 'f**king Men,' an adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's 19th century play 'La Ronde' that is now stunningly and cleverly updated and turned inside out.

F**KING MEN, a beautiful new play by Joe DiPietro, directed by Tom Mullen. Presented at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont Ave, Chicago. Previews begin June 18th; Opening Night June 26th.

Although Washington sex scandals are always in vogue, this play reads grossly out of date. (A Qaddafi reference, really?) In juxtaposition, the contemporary references that were placed to update the show felt forced and awkward.

f**kING MEN observes the sex lives of the modern urban gay American male. Conceived as a noir-riff on Arthur Schnitzler's 19th century play, LA RONDE, the play examines ten men from all walks of life as they negotiate the before and after of lust, love, betrayal and the pursuit of sex and emotional connection.
