Wax, Owen to Star in RUBY WAX LOSING IT at Menier Chocolate Factory, 2/15-3/19

From February 15 through March 19, Ruby Wax and Judith Owen will star in RUBY WAX LOSING IT at Menier Chocolate Factory. Thea Sharrock will direct the production. In this hilarious and sometimes dark show Ruby Wax, from the point of view as one in the one in four, discusses the toxins of our time - envy, fame, television, the insatiable drive to win, getting rich, getting the perfect body, marriage, kids, career and above all staying busy while looking like you're having a nice day. This is why we all, at one point in our lives, feel like we're about to go under or in Ruby's case, fall off a cliff.

Massey, Skinner, Teale Presents ACT OF MEMORY In The East End

Hendrix Productions - producer LAURA CRAMPSIE - are delighted to announce that filming of ACT OF MEMORY, JACK RYDER'S own screenplay based upon the award-winning short story ACT OF MEMORY by the 80-year-old American writer MARY GRACE DEMBECK, commenced on location in London's East End on 16 December.

Richard Eyre will direct John Mortimer's translation of Georges Feydeau's 1907 classic farce A FLEA IN HER EAR , opening for previews on 4 December 2010 (press night: 14 December). Starring Tom Hollander with Di Botcher, Jonathan Cake, Oliver Cotton, Lisa Dillon, Freddie Fox, Fiona Glascott, Lloyd Hutchinson, John Marquez, Tim McMullan, William Maxwell, Rebecca Night, Maggie Service and Walter Van Dyk, A Flea in Her Ear is a comedy of errors set against a backdrop of misunderstanding and confusion. A Flea in Her Ear is a co-production with Sonia Friedman Productions and is the second play in The Old Vic 2010-11 Season. The Season is sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

PASSION, CLYBOURNE PARK Win London Evening Standard Awards

According to the BBC, PASSION was named the Best Musical at the 56th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards while Bruce Norris's CLYBOURNEY PARK won the Best Play Award on Nov. 28 in a ceremony at London's Savoy Hotel. Sir Peter Hall was also honored with the Moscow Art Theatre's Golden Seagull Award for his contribution to world theatre while Sir Michael Gambon was awarded the Lebedev Special Award for his contribution to British theatre.

COMPANY Plays Six Week Run At Southwark Playhouse 2/2-3/12/2011

Following the success of Sondheim's 80th birthday celebrations in 2010, this musical comedy based on modern relationships will be revived in 2011 starring Rupert Young (Merlin, Shameless, National Theatre) as Bobby, joined by a cast of musical theatre favourites including Olivier-nominated (Best Actress in a Musical) Siobhan McCarthy as Joanne.

Burstyn & Kane Join Knightley & Moss in CHILDREN'S HOUR

Ellen Burstyn and Carol Kane as well as Bryony Hannah and Tobias Menzies are to join the previously announced Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss in Ian Rickson's production of Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour. The Children's Hour, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions & Scott Landis, will have its first preview at the Comedy Theatre on 22 January 2011 with press night on 9 February and is booking until 2 April 2011.

Full Cast Announced for West End CLYBOURNE PARK

Stuart McQuarrie and Jason Watkins join Lorna Brown, Sarah Goldberg, Michael Goldsmith, Lucian Msamati, Sam Spruell and Sophie Thompson for the West End transfer of Bruce Norris' critically acclaimed Clybourne Park, directed by Dominic Cooke, Artistic Director of the Royal Court.

RIALTO CHATTER: Moss & Knightley-Led THE CHILDREN'S HOUR Coming to Broadway in Fall, 2011?

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, Ian Rickson will direct Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss in Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour due to open in the West End in early 2011 for a limited run that will shutter in the spring. The New York Times suggests today that the production could be bound for Broadway in the fall of 2011, taking a hiatus to accommodate Knightley and Mosses respective filming schedules next summer.

2010 London Evening Standard Awards Announces Long List

The Evening Standard Theatre Awards, established in 1955, are presented annually for outstanding achievements in London Theatre. Sponsored by the Evening Standard newspaper, the 2010 Awards will be presented at the Savory on November 28, 2010. The short list of the 2010 nominees will be released one week prior to the ceremony.
