BWW Review: THE CRYSTAL EGG LIVE, The Vaults

What would you do if someone or something was watching you? Adapted from the H.G. Well's short story, The Crystal Egg Live tells the story of Charley Wace, taken in by his eccentric Uncle Cave after his father disappears. When his father's body is discovered, Charley inherits the only item found with the body-a crystal egg. Uncle Cave owns a curiosity shop in London's Seven Dials and intends to sell the egg to improve life for his family, but sinister events connected to the egg threaten to plunge the whole world into great danger.

Inaugural HERETIC VOICES Extends at Arcola Theatre

Heretic Productions today announces an extension of the inaugural Heretic Voices - a new competition which aims to find the best new writing in monologue form, at the Arcola Theatre now running from Tuesday 9 January until Saturday 20 January. The recently announced winners, chosen by Michael Billington, Lolita Chakrabarti, Monica Dolan and Mel Kenyon, will have their monologues produced by acclaimed directors and actors at the Arcola Theatre.

Casting Announced for THE MOOR at the Old Red Lion

Jill McAusland (Call the Midwife, BBC1; Pygmalion, English Speaking Theatre Frankfurt; Arms and the Man, Watford Palace Theatre), Oliver Britten (Walrus, The Vaults; Alice Adventures Underground, VAULT Festival; Back to the Future, Secret Cinema) and Jonny Magnanti (Three Winters, National Theatre; The Hound of the Baskervilles, Stables Theatre Hastings; Midsummer Night's Dream, Mercatoria Theatre Company) will form the cast for the world premiere of Catherine Lucie's The Moor, a tense psychological thriller set in a place where nothing is as it seems.

Pentire St Productions Presents RUBBER, an Immersive Show in a Car

Rubber is performed in a real, moving car. So come and sit in the back seats of Jess and Tom's car, who're in a loving relationship. Right? 'Immersive theatre at its finest' (A Younger Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe 2016), this fly-on-the-wall experience puts the audience into the capable hands of Tom, who is driving Jess around for her first call of the day. Living in a society where they have turned to sex work just to pay the bills, how could things get worse for them? But when Tom's hidden truths come to light, the road gets bumpy. 'Rubber' explores the tough realities of emotional and physical dependencies that the millennial generation can be driven to by a world that they feel increasingly doesn't want them.

Immersive Tea Dance Drama THINK OF ENGLAND comes to VAULT Festival 2018

Fresh from a rural UK tour, Anonymous is a Woman Theatre Company brings Think Of England to VAULT Festival 2018. This immersive production will recreate 1940s London and the air raid shelter that was originally situated under Waterloo Station, transporting the audience back to wartime dangers and exhilaration of tea dances.

Cast Announced for Award-Winning Musical TEDDY on Tour

The cast is announced for the award-winning musical TEDDY, by Tristan Bernays, with music by Dougal Irvine, the first production in The Watermill Theatre's Spring 2018 season which runs at the theatre from Thursday 11 January until Saturday 10 February.
