Truckin' on to the Barn Theatre stage is Rex Smith starring in HANDS ON A HARDBODY! Playing August 11 - 23.

Six theatre directors will participate in the third Sundance Institute | LUMA Foundation Theatre Directors Retreat in Arles, France, July 31 through August 12. The Retreat is part of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community and is one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

 Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), a global leader in music rights management, is proud to continue its support for the Sundance Institute Film Music Program, which collaborates with Skywalker Sound to host the Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Labs at Skywalker Sound. Its first 2015 session of the Lab, which begins July 7 at Skywalker Ranch, provides an opportunity for composers and directors to explore the collaborative process of writing music for feature film and is a joint venture of the Institute's Film Music Program and Feature Film Program.

Sundance Institute in collaboration with Kaufman Music Center will present An Anniversary Concert Reading of Hollywood Arms at Merkin Concert Hall on September 21.

Matthew Paul Olmos's the living life of the daughter mira has been named the winner of Arizona Theatre Company's 2015 National Latino Playwriting Award (NLPA), and the recipient of the $1000 prize. 2015 marks the 20th year of the competition.

INTAR continues its acclaimed 2014 - '15 season with SATYRICOÑO by Migdalia Cruz, a workshop presentation of a new play in development with actors from INTAR's UNIT 52 project, as well as guest artists Annie Henk, David Anzuelo, Bobby Plasencia, and Lisa Ramirez. There will be only three performances, which are open to the public: Friday, June 19th, Saturday June 20th, and Sunday June 21st.

An invitation-only reading of the new musical Amandine, featuring a book and lyrics by Winter Miller and music and lyrics by Lance Horne, will be presented on May 28, directed by Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Markus Potter.  The evening will feature the talents of Tony Award nominees Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent) and Elizabeth A. Davis (Once), along with Nick Blaemire (Found), Erin Markey (Erin Markey at Joe's Pub with Kenny Mellman), John Kelly (James Joyce's The Dead), and Romain Fruge (Threepenny Opera).

The Tony Randall Theatrical Fund has announced the award winners for the 2015-2016 season. Furthering its commitment to non-profit theater companies, innovative productions, initiatives in the arts education and arts-based community outreach programs, TRTF grants aid the growth and development of each organization.  This year the Fund is pleased to award over $100,000, for general operating support grants to twelve exceptional theater companies with a proven track record of artistic excellence and ambitious, mission-driven theater-making.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of an exciting new American play, Rich Girl, by acclaimed playwright Victoria Stewart, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. Rich Girl will be directed by James Vasquez (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show), and will play May 23 - June 21, 2015, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, announces the second production of its 20th Anniversary Season, the world premiere of Look, we are breathing, written by Chicago playwright Laura Jacqmin and directed by Megan Shuchman. The production runs April 2-May 16, 2015, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago. The press opening is Today, April 11, 2015, at 7:00pm.

Due to popular pre-sale demand, a year in advance, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will extend West Coast Premiere of Sarah Treem's (Netflix's House of Cards, HBO's In Treatment) thought-provoking THE HOW AND THE WHY, the third fully staged production to be performed in the company's second stage performance space, Harry's UpStage. The company will add an additional two weeks of performances to the original run dates. Acclaimed Bay Area actress and director Joy Carlin (Talley's Folly, After the Revolution, Body Awareness, Jack Goes Boating, Awake and Sing!) helms this intimate and keenly perceptive play about which the Washington Post said, "brims with ideas and emotional colors that eddy and refract like rivulets in a lively, plunging stream."

Sundance Institute today announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from May 25 through June 25.

Nirbhaya, which has received unanimous critical praise in its North American premiere will play its final weeks at The Lynn Redgrave Theater.

Trinity Rep closes out Season 51: The Necessity of Human Connection with the world premiere of Tony-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl and composer Todd Almond's Melancholy Play: a chamber musical, directed by Obie Award-winner Liesl Tommy. Melancholy Play: a chamber musical runs May 28 through June 28, 2015 in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater.

The multiple award-winning Echo Theater Company, named "Best Bet for Ballsy Original Plays" by the LA Weekly, continues its 2015 season with two Los Angeles premieres scheduled to run in repertory. Row After Row by Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project) opens on April 25 at 5 p.m., with A Small Fire by Obie Award-winner Adam Bock (The Drunken City, The Receptionist) opening that same evening at 8 p.m.
