The WAM Theatre 2017 Fresh Takes Play reading series continues with The Droll by Meg Miroshnik at 3:30 pm on Sunday, June 4 at No. Six Depot Roastery and Cafe in West Stockbridge. WAM Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven will direct, and acclaimed local professional actor and theatre educator Jennie M. Jadow is co-producing and will be reading one of the roles.

In the past week, the arts in Canada have lost two bright lights in Stuart McLean and Richard McMillan. In the time-honoured theatrical tradition, the marquee lights of all four Mirvish Theatres - the Royal Alexandra, the Princess of Wales, the Ed Mirvish and the Panasonic - will have their lights dimmed at the traditional curtain time, 8 PM, today, February 22, 2017.

Ben Brantley of The New York Times recently called them 'one of the boldest and most venerable politically minded companies in New York experimental theater.' American Theater magazine has deemed them 'one of the most exceptional theater companies in the country.' The Talking Band will present in association with La MaMa the world premiere of its latest work, Burnished by Grief, a sinister, music infused romantic comedy, at La MaMa'sfirst floor theater from January 22-February 7.
