British-Nigerian, former U.S. model Phina Oruche is bringing her highly acclaimed one-woman show IDENTITY CRISIS to New York City's historic SoHo Playhouse as a part of the 12th Annual Fringe Encore Series. Identity Crisis is a comic tale that examines Oruche's own observations on what others have made of her black identity as she worked her way through being a fashion model, actress, radio presenter and writer in a world of fickle media. Award-winning actor and writer, Dominique Salerno, premiered the solo-show at FringeNYC in 2016 where it played to packed houses and was awarded an Overall Excellence Award in Solo Performance. THE BOX SHOW also had a successful run at the Fringe Encore Series where it was selected (among nine other plays out of 200) to have an extended run at the Soho Playhouse. In September 2016, the comedic show played at the United Solo Festival on Theatre Row where it was awarded best comedic script.

This festive event treats audiences to 45-minute previews of 3 brand new holiday-themed musicals. At the end of the evening, audiences vote for their favorite and the winning show will be performed as a full-length staged reading in December. Peter Darney brings back his highly acclaimed and disturbingly honest 5 Guys Chillin' to King's Head Theatre. After an original run in 2005, the show has touched audiences at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, and the SoHo Playhouse in New York. The play challenges the uncomfortable implications that come with the practice of ChemSex, the sexualised drug use largely spread among gay men. By interviewing real consumers and transposing their words verbatim, the playwright and director is effective and straight to the point.
