TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will kick off the new year with the Tony and Olivier Award nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Written by Golden Globe winner Peter Morgan (creator of Netflix's The Crown), Frost/Nixon is a riveting political prizefight where the cameras roll, the truth spins, and it becomes clear that he who controls the medium controls the message.

New Village Arts announces its second New Play Festival, FINAL DRAFT, scheduled for January 3-6, 2019. This year's festival will feature plays by local playwrights Aleta Barthell, Dea Hurston, Karen Riehl, Roy Sekigahama and a full-length musical by Blake McCarty and Trevor Bachman. Selections were decided from an open submission pool of over 80 new plays and musicals and a five-person readership panel.

Come join Pacific Symphony for a special treat this Christmas season, the "Nutcracker for Kids!" FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Two Thousand Miles: A New Musical on December 21st, 2018 at 11:30pm. 'Two Thousand Miles' is an original musical with a book by Alyssa Williams and music & lyrics by Hans Zanger. The musical tells the story of illness, strength, and life-altering experiences. Set in New York City, "Two Thousand Miles" follows a group of estranged friends from California as they find themselves working on a musical together years after high school graduation. Drawing from her own personal experiences, the writer shines a light on arthritis and other illnesses that are deemed invisible. Each character leans on the other through tough times and trials.

Playwrights Project will produce its 34th annual festival of Plays by Young Writers, sponsored by the Sheila and Jeffrey Lipinsky Family Fund, at The Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center at The Old Globe on January 10 - January 26, 2019. The festival will feature winning scripts from Playwrights Project's California Young Playwrights Contest for ages 18 and under.
