Choreographer Ivy Baldwin's latest work, Keen (Part 2), is a meditation on loss and ritual.

Hot off the trail of sold-out performances of their Year of the Rooster Celebration at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, the critically acclaimed Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will take residence at Centenary Stage Company on the campus of  Centenary University in Hackettstown in April with public programs that celebrate the Company's artistic vision and heritage.

The Hamburg Ballet made its Joyce debut with a six performance run of John Neumeier's Old Friends from March 21st to 25th 2017. The cast of 25, billed as the Joyce Theater New York Ensemble, was selected from the full company roster of 60.

New York Theatre Ballet, the foremost chamber ballet company in the United States, will return to Tarboro, North Carolina on March 30, 2017 at 7:30pm to perform in the Edgecombe Community College Performing Arts Series, bringing a program of mixed repertoire. NYTB has performed in the series annually for the past four years.

As its lovers know, dance has a language of its own, written in space by the moving body. By graphically integrating the changing shapes of the dancing body with the static shapes of alphabetical letters, the newest issue of Dance Ink, scheduled for publication March 27, presents a dynamic visual relationship between the two languages, both imaginative and newly provocative. Patsy Tarr founded Dance Ink in 1989.

Richmond Ballet returns to The Joyce Theater for the first time since 2010 to perform four NY premieres from the more than 60 works commissioned by the Company since its inception. Under the 37-year leadership of founder Stoner Winslett – one of the longest tenured artistic directors of a major American ballet company and one of the few women in this position – Richmond Ballet has grown into one of the most respected midsized companies, presenting its body of works around the world. For their 2017 New York season, the Company has selected pieces by four gifted choreographers including Chinese-born Ma Cong, Warsaw-born and New York-resident Katarzyna Skarpetowska, San Francisco-based Val Caniparoli, and Richmond Ballet's Artistic Associate, Malcolm Burn.

Cherylyn Lavagnino, Artistic Director of Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, will present a new, combination choreographic work, "Gender Shifts," at 92Y's DIG DANCE Moving Forward: Women Ballet Choreographers East and West, on Friday, April 28 at 8pm, in the historic Buttenwieser Hall. Five female East/West choreographers will come together that evening to present a singular program of new dances and revivals. 

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana today announced the program for its annual New York City season, May 16-21, 2017, at BAM Fisher.

Houston Ballet is proud to announce that Artistic Director Stanton Welch AM has promoted Jessica Collado to Principal dancer. Formally a First-Soloist, Ms. Collado was promoted on the evening of March 10, 2017 after starring in Stanton Welch's production of Cinderella in the title role.

Due to inclement weather and unsafe travel conditions The Joyce Theater (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) has cancelled this evening's (March 14) opening performance of Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart in the New York premiere of Marco Goecke's acclaimed evening-length work NIJINSKI. The new official opening for this engagement will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 7:30pm.

From March 16 - 26, Houston Ballet offers up a mixed repertory program Director's Choice: Legends and Prodigy, featuring three company, dancer and audience favorites. Hans van Manen's Grosse Fuge showcases Houston Ballet's strong male lineup and proves unequivocally why he is Holland's most famous choreographer. Ji?i Kylian created Stepping Stones during a visit to Australia as a reflection on man's desire to preserve his heritage. Justin Peck joins Houston Ballet's repertoire with Year of the Rabbit, a ballet that showcases the corps de ballet.
