LuPone & Patinkin Reunite At The State, 2/12

Appearing together again after their Tony Award® winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. These Broadway legends will bring their critically acclaimed theatre concert to the State Theatre in Easton for one performance only on Saturday, February 12th at 8 PM.

Casting is complete for the Chicago premiere of Yasmina Reza's triple Tony Award-winning God of Carnage. Director Rick Snyder directs a cast 'in which highly skilled stage performers take on roles that allow them to rip the stuffing out of one another, tear up the scenery, stomp on their own vanity and have the time of their lives' (The New York Times) including Mary Beth Fisher (Rock 'n' Roll, The Seagull); Keith Kupferer (Passion Play, The Dark Night); Beth Lacke (Man From Nebraska, Frost/Nixon) and David Pasquesi (Sin, Romance).

Wright's MISTAKES WERE MADE Begins Previews at Barrow Street, 11/5

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter, who presented the critically acclaimed landmark production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, will next present the New York premiere of the new comedy, Mistakes Were Made, by Craig Wright with direction by Dexter Bullard. The two-character play features Academy Award-nominee Michael Shannon as producer Felix Artifex and Mierka Girten as his assistant Esther, and reunites the creative team of the Off-Broadway smash hit Bug (Bullard, Shannon and Barrow Street). The 16- week limited engagement will begin performances Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Barrow Street Theatre. Opening night is set for Sunday evening, November 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Photo Flash: Molina & Packard in Goodman's CANDIDE!

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the Goodman Theatre began performances of Candide, starring Broadway's Lauren Molina and Geoff Packard on September 17, 2010. Due to high demand for tickets, Goodman Theatre has extends Mary Zimmerman's much-anticipated revival of Leonard Bernstein's enduring masterpiece through October 31, 2010.

The kick-off single from Lauren Molina's upcoming full length CD release Sea For Two, titled 'Gonna Be Alright' featuring her former Broadway co-star from 'Rock of Ages' Jeremy Jordan (currently playing Tony in 'West Side Story' at certain performances), is an infectious tune that shows the duo duking it out in a NYC apartment. According to Variety, stage and screen veterans Brian Dennehy and Dianne Wiest have officially been cast in A Big Year, directed by David Frankel. Dennehy and Wiest join an all-star cast, including Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Anjelica Huston, among others.

Paice, Morton, Kushnier Lead Cast Of CHESS At Signature Theatre Thru 9/26

CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. The cast is lead by Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps) as Florence Vassy, Euan Morton (Boy George in Taboo, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Anatoly Sergievsky and Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose, Rent) as Freddie Trumper. The rock musical is directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. Written by Mamma Mia! composers Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson with Evita and Lion King lyricist Tim Rice, the 1984 cult musical of Cold War competition in love and chess is being given its first major Washington area production. Chess is being performed in the fabulous intimacy of the 276-seat MAX Theatre.
