THE BROTHERS SIZE to Run 6/7-7/27 at the Fountain

Shirley Jo Finney, director of the Fountain Theatre's multiple award-winning production of In the Red and Brown Water in 2012, returns to direct the second play in Tarell Alvin McCraney's 'Brother/Sister Plays' trilogy. The Los Angeles premiere of The Brothers Size opens June 7 at the Fountain for a limited engagement that must close July 27.

Southern Rep Theatre's 28th Mainstage Season to Feature BROOMSTICK, BOUDIN & More

Fresh off of the success of its previous Season, and particularly its most recent, acclaimed production of THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA by Tennessee Williams, Southern Rep is pleased to announce its 2014-15 Mainstage Season, featuring four productions by, or about, Louisianans: BROOMSTICK by John Biguenet (regional premiere), DETROIT by Lisa D'Amour (regional premiere), BOUDIN: The New Orleans Music Project curated by Matt Callahan, Sean Daniels, Aimee Hayes (world premiere), and SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER by Tennessee Williams, in partnership with the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival.

Directed by Shirley Jo Finney, the world premiere of Closely Related Keys opens Feb. 28 at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood.

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures to Present INHERIT THE WIND, 2/8-3/16

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures will present one of the great American plays of the 20th century, INHERIT THE WIND, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, directed by the award-winning Kiff Scholl, produced by Racquel Lehrman/Theatre Planners. In a small town courtroom and with the eyes of the nation upon them, two legal giants face off over a teacher's right to teach evolution to a high school class in this critically acclaimed drama based on the Scopes Monkey Trial. As rousing and relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1955, INHERIT THE WIND is an edge-of-your-seat riveting look at the age-old conflict between science and religion. The play opens Friday, February 8th and runs through March 16th at the Grove Theatre Center in Burbank, CA.

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV to Run 2/22-4/19 at the Fountain

A young painter must reconcile his remarkable artistic gifts with the austerity and singular devotion required by his faith. Stephen Sachs directs the Los Angeles premiere of Aaron Posner's award-winning stage adaptation of Chaim Potok's acclaimed novel, My Name is Asher Lev, opening Feb. 22 at the Fountain Theatre.

MURDER ABBEY Comes to the Fountain, 1/12-31

After sold-out shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and Los Angeles, costume drama parody Murder Abbey begins a run at the Fountain Theatre. Murder Abbey is a solo costume drama parody written and performed by Upright Citizens Brigade comedian, Kate Hess.
