The National Campaign for the Arts (NCA) has released a statement following the General Election.

This July, Carnegie Hall brings together close to 200 of the best teen musicians from across the country for a month of exceptional music making as part of two exciting ensembles. The critically-acclaimed National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), now entering its fifth year, is comprised of 116 musicians, ages 16-19. NYO2, a new group launched in summer 2016 for younger players, ages 14-17, was created with a particular focus of attracting talented students from communities traditionally underserved or underrepresented in the classical music field. In total, the musicians of NYO-USA and NYO2 come from 40 US states, plus Puerto Rico. Both programs are free, ensuring that all promising young players can have the opportunity to take part in this unique community of musicians-learning from a world-class faculty, playing alongside talented peers, and performing with leading artists on the stages of some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall.

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo's new EP, Mozartistic, breaks new ground in blending symphonic music with hip hop technique. Produced by 2017 Grammy winner Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and recorded with highly respected pianist Orion Weiss, DJ Marley Carroll and the entire cast of Asheville Symphony, Mozartistic combines the rich and deep strains of classical with the boom bap drums of classic hip hop. The Mozartistic EP debuted as part of the Asheville Amadeus Festival, an Asheville community-wide music event celebrating the music and life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

'Women are greatly under-represented in theater... despite the fact that great strides have been made in other fields, women continue to face enormous employment challenges in the arts' (Eleanor J. Bader, Investigative Journalist for Truthout, a 501(c)3 non-profit working actively against Social Injustice).  Born from this idea and the personal experiences of the artists who work at Flat Rock Playhouse, Be a #SHERO for the Arts, is an effort by the Playhouse, in partnership with United Way's Women United,  Pardee Hospital's Women Helping Women & BREASTCANCER.org , to ultimately, empower women in the Arts, in their own lives, and in their communities.

HISTORY(R) has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to the original scripted drama BLUE BOOK from A+E Studios, it was announced today by Paul Buccieri, President, A+E Studios and A+E Networks Portfolio Group.

The Broadway League has released end-of-season statistics for the 2016 - 2017 season, which began week ending May 29, 2016 and ended May 21, 2017. For the 2016 - 2017 season, total attendance reached 13,270,343 and Broadway shows yielded $1,449,321,564.64 in grosses, making it the highest grossing season in Broadway recorded history and second-best attended season on record. All new and continuing productions ran a total of 1,580 playing weeks.
