Syfy has acquired both seasons (31 episodes) of the acclaimed fan-favorite Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, it was announced today by Chris Regina, Vice President, Programming, Syfy, and Tom Cerio, Executive Vice President, Cable Sales, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
Artist Elizabeth Peyton's Wagner, an exhibition of works based on the characters in Der Ring des Nibelungen, will open at the Metropolitan Opera on February 25. Wagner is the second in a series of exhibitions celebrating the Met's new production of the composer's Ring cycle. Peyton's work will be shown at the Arnold & Marie Schwartz Gallery Met and in other locations throughout the opera house; this will be the first time an artist's exhibition will not be limited to the gallery itself. The show will include nearly 30 works. A majority are new monotypes and drawings made for the exhibition.
The Emperor's Nightingale by Laura Amy Schlitz, directed by Moses Goldberg is based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen, and this version takes place in China. Led by an ensemble cast of twelve, Escape... is a coming-of-age story in the tradition of The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The Chocolate War and, most closely, Stand By Me. Escape from the Haltsburg Boys Choir-workshopped by The Ruckus in June 2010-is performed at The Side Project Theatre (1439 W Jarvis Ave) and will close January 30, 2011.
