Theater Works' INTO THE WOODS, JR. Camp Kicks Off 7/16

Theater Works final summer camp begins next week with INTO THE WOODS, JR. The Brothers Grimm 'go Broadway' as Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale where all of your favorite characters - Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and The Witch - meet and interact on their journeys.

Pantochino's BROTHERS GRIMM AND A SHOWGIRL Plays Audubon Arts On The Edge Festival Today, 6/2

Connecticut's Pantochino Productions Inc will bring its popular musical, 'The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl' to New Haven's Audubon Arts On The Edge festival sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven today, June 2nd. An abridged version of the show has been added to the company's touring roster and appears in Connecticut schools throughout the month.

Pantochino's BROTHERS GRIMM AND A SHOWGIRL Continues into June

Connecticut's Pantochino Productions Inc will bring its popular musical, 'The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl' to the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury for two performances this week, and at New Haven's Audubon Arts On the Edge festival sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven on Saturday, June 2nd. An abridged version of the show has been added to the company's touring roster and will begin appearing in Connecticut schools today, May 30th.

THE GOATS GRUFF Kicks Off Theater Works Summer Camps, 5/29

Summer is just around the corner and Theater Works has some exciting theater camps for kids 3 - 18. Theater Works' first camp is the exciting tale of THE GOATS GRUFF with over 40 speaking roles available. This camp kicks off the summer series with 3 weeks of fun, acting, encouragement and a FULLY-COSTUMED AND STAGED PRODUCTION with your child performing on stage. This play has plenty of roles to keep every actor (boys and girls) engaged and active and will provide a fun filled time for performers and audiences alike. Theater Works camps are open to all ages, budgets and schedules. Registration is now open and discounts are offered for siblings or multiple camps.

Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV Merge to Form Virginia Repertory Theatre

Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV announce that the two nonprofit theaters will formally merge effective July 1, 2012 under a new name - Virginia Repertory Theatre (Virginia Rep). With a budget exceeding $5 million, four distinct venues, and an annual audience over 550,000, Virginia Rep will become the largest professional theater and one of the largest performing arts organizations in Central Virginia along with the Richmond Ballet, Richmond Symphony, and the Virginia Opera. Barksdale and Theatre IV celebrated the announcement and the unveiling of the new Virginia Rep sign today, May 20, at the November Theatre (formerly the Empire Theatre) at 114 West Broad Street at 4:00 p.m. after the closing of Seussical, thelast mainstage children's production under the Theatre IV name. Virginia Rep will transition into the new organization between now and July 1.
