The HSBC Jazz Festival Announces Patti Austin As Encore Performance 5/12

Charlie Rose has called her voice 'the most under-appreciated in all of music today.' Legendary producer Quincy Jones declared her his goddaughter upon hearing her sing. And sing she has her entire life - from her professional debut at the Apollo at age 5 and through 17 solo albums, 20 Billboard charting songs, multiple Grammy Awards, an Oscar nom and countless collaborations.

Benefit Held for Producer Michael Cullen at the Royal George Theater, 4/19

Royal George, 1641 N. Halsted, opens its doors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 19th, 2010 in honor of Michael Cullen, owner of the Mercury Theater and Cullen's, and a thirty five-year veteran producer and pioneer in the development of Chicagoland theater as it is known today. Recently suffering from a stroke, Mr. Cullen requires extensive therapy treatments. The entertainment line-up is still to be announced for this event.

Leslie Uggams Concludes Run At The Cafe Carlyle 4/17

Tony Award-winner Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!) concludes an exclusive three-week engagement - her first New York cabaret appearance in 18 years - at the Café Carlyle April 17. 'Leslie Uggams: Uptown Downtown' began performances on Tuesday, March 30.

West End WICKED Producers Crack Down on Piracy

The New York Times reports today that the producers of WICKED in the West End are cracking down on piracy, threatening an indefinite ban from the show for anyone who illegally records the musical live. This announcement comes on the heels of one fan had recorded the entire musical from their seat and posted it on YouTube.
