"Black Treacle" - an instant fan favorite since the release of Suck It And See last year- is definitive Monkeys: verbose, witty and drenched in shimmering, languid guitars. The video, filmed in California last year, sees drummer Matt Helders reprising his role of devilish desert outlaw. The "Black Treacle" single will be released digitally on Jan 23rd and on 7-inch vinyl on Feb 21st. The single will be backed with the exclusive new track "You And I" by Richard Hawley and The Death Ramps, which was recorded and produced by Ross Orton.
