Jazz Prodigy Matthew Whitaker Comes To Ali Arts

The Historic Ali Cultural Arts is proud to present one of the most acclaimed new jazz performers in the world, Matthew Whitaker. The blind teen prodigy has been hailed by critics for his virtuoso style on the piano and the Hammond B3 organ. Whitaker was recently profiled on the Today Show and has been seen on a variety of TV programs including Ellen, CBS Sunday Morning and Good Morning Japan. Last year, he debuted his critically acclaimed first CD, Outta the Box, featuring a mix of original compositions and his take on the classics.

The Comrades are pleased to present the second show of their 2017/18 season, the Chicago premiere of ROW AFTER ROW by Jessica Dickey, which will be directed by Ann Kreitman. The show will play the Apollo Studio Theater (2540 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago) from February 5 through 27, 2018. 

GOLDSTEIN A New Musical Opens at The Actors' Temple, 4/5

GOLDSTEIN, a new musical about family with music and lyrics by Michael Roberts and a book by Charlie Schulman will open Thursday, April 5th at 7PM at the Actors' Temple Theatre (339 West 47 St -between 8th and 9th Avenues). Previews begin Monday, March 26th.  GOLDSTEIN is directed by Brad Rouse, with musical staging by Sarah O'Gelby.  Tickets are $79 and are available by visiting www.goldsteinmusical.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.   The full cast is soon-to-be-announced.

Musical Comedy BASTARD JONES Sets Off-Broadway Opening Date

Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director, Kira Simring) will present the Off Broadway Premiere of BASTARD JONES, a rock musical comedy based on Henry Fielding's bawdy 18th century novel, The History of Tom Jones. With book, lyrics, & direction by Marc Acito (Broadway's Allegiance) and music & lyrics by Amy Engelhardt (Grammy nominees The Bobs), performances begin June 14 at the cell. Opening is slated for Thursday, June 22.

Adrienne Danrich Performs at Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Adrienne Danrich in Love & Trouble: Five Personas ~ One Voice on February 20, 2018. In collaboration with classical and musical theater composer Dave Hall. Danrich has created a unique, toe-tapping, emotionally riveting, and uplifting concert honoring the stories of five different women. Danrich seamlessly transforms from one character to the next with quick-witted, lively dialogue and songs that will transport you from the jazz and blues lounge to the gospel revival to the opera house. The music for Love & Trouble was written by Hall and Danrich with lyrics and poems by Danrich.

New Block of Tickets for TINA Go Onsale Today

Stage Entertainment has confirmed that due to exceptional public demand over 100,000 new tickets will go on sale today (Friday 26 January 2018) at 12noon GMT for TINA, a new musical based on the life of legendary artist Tina Turner.
