On Her Shoulders will present a special event on Monday, April 3, 2017 celebrating its theatrical heritage as agents of change.

This Spring, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. continues the celebration of its 50th Anniversary season, in which it is remounting classic plays of the company's past.

Joining in the opening night festivities for The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa (66 East 4th Street): Ellen Burstyn, Co-President of the Actors Studio; Carla Hoke-Miller, Director of Theatrical Partnerships for the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment; Ruben Blades; Lee Grant; Michael Aranov (OSLO); Valda Setterfield; Patricia Bosworth; Margaret Colin; and many others. This limited Off-Broadway engagement continues through March 26th.   The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is enjoying an extended run at La Mama after being developed at the Actors Studio as part of the Theater & Social Justice program, using Actors Studio members.     

???????Darkly humorous and charged with emotion, Betrayal explores marriage and infidelity among the entangled trio of Robert, Emma, and Jerry. Robert and Jerry are best friends and partners in a publishing firm.

The Storm Theatre, in association with Christopher Ekstrom Productions, kicks off its 20th anniversary season with the world premiere of 'Deconstruction,' by Jonathan Leaf. Opening Night is set for Monday, March 13, 2017 at 7pm.

Theater for the New City (Crystal Field Executive Artistic Director) will present the World Premiere of WINK, a new play by Neil Koenigsberg, directed by Ron Beverly. Previews begin Thursday, April 13 with opening night set for Wednesday, April 19.

Houses on the Moon Theater Company will present two world premiere productions in repertory developed through company workshops: The Assignment, a new original play by Camilo Almonacid, directed by Emily Joy Weiner, is a co-production with Rhymes Over Beats (Patrick Blake, Artistic Director; Cate Cammarata, Associate Artistic Director), and will be performed in repertory with gUN COUNTRY, curated by Jeffery Solomon and Emily Joy Weiner, written, developed and performed by Houses On The Moon company members and directed by Jenna Worsham.

DivaFest 2017 will present the Midwest Premiere of the award-winning solo play, HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr, written and performed by Heather Massie.

Playwright Mashuq Deen (New Dramatists Fellow 2022) brings the story of his own transgender journey as a member of a traditional South Asian family and Playwright Catherine Filloux, winner of more than 40 awards for playwriting, activism and peace work, brings her latest work to the stage at New York City's first arts-advocacy festival of its kind, the International Human Rights Art Festival.

Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company presents Charles L. Mee's Big Love. Big Love gives a fresh twist on Aeschylus' The Suppliant Women, one of the oldest plays in the western world.

Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl, winner of the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award and a MacArthur 'genius' grant, will be directed by Courtney O'Connor at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, opening February 26 and running through March 26, 2017. Previews begin February 24. 

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), in partnership with the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, welcomes NJPAC Stage Exchange back for its third year. Cutting-edge play development meets insightful community dialogue at Stage Exchange, a collaboration of three professional New Jersey theaters and a talented trio of Garden State playwrights.

The 13th Street Repertory Theater presents Perversion, a world premiere allegory of modern America written and directed by Judson Blake.  The cast of eight includes Harry Bainbridge, Daniel Cuff, Tony Del Bono, Dana Jesberger, Irina Kaplan, Robert Lewis, Andrew Nordin and Jenn Susi.  Thirty performances will be staged at the 13th Street Repertory Theater, 50 West 13th Street in NYC 10011 from March 30-April 30, 2017.

For three nights in March, a former medical marijuana dispensary in Seattle's University District will transform into a makeshift theatre cafe. Inspired by Joe Cino's legendary Greenwich Village performance space, Caffe Cino, the space will house performances of six short plays from the early days of Off Off Broadway.
