Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story - has been seen by over 22 million people worldwide and has since been dubbed 'the world's most successful rock'n'roll musical'. Within his short two year career, he wrote some supremely iconic music and influenced successive artists who wished to follow in Buddy's footsteps.
The Group Rep presents the world premiere musical 'The Ghost of Gershwin,' with music by Wayland Pickard, book by Doug Haverty, lyrics by Laura Manning, directed by Jules Aaron, choreographed by Michele Bernath, and produced by Richard Alan Woody. Tony-Nominated Director Randal Myler and multi-talented Music Director Dan Wheetman return to Lone Tree Arts Center (LTAC) to create a new vision for Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn after setting the bar high with Hank Williams: Lost Highway last spring and John Denver Holiday Concert in 2012. Returning to the roots of Mark Twain's classic American folktale, this production of Big River focuses on the talent and voices of the cast as they each become storytellers.
The Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company (TAC) reunite for a sixth year, presenting Hamlet, Shakespeare's story of a Danish prince's search for vengeance, justice and truth, in repertory with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, a reworking of the same tragedy from the point of view of two minor characters and their static existence in a world beyond their comprehension. This two-week engagement today, April 22 - May 4, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage, will conclude a successful seven-month 42-city tour, during which time these productions played to thousands of adults and students in large and small markets around the United States. Both Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead will showcase the talents of graduates of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program, as well as alumni of A Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training.

Only one man can cut through massive bureaucratic duplicity and reveal what happened to the suspected anarchist who died from a fall out of a fourth-floor police station window. Did he jump? The Hangar Theatre is accepting applications for its nationally recognized theatre-training program, the Lab Company, which runs from June 1 through July 27, 2014. The Lab Company, which welcomes advanced undergraduates and recent college graduates, provides classroom training and performance opportunities for young professionals in acting, directing, choreography, design, and play writing. The program's focus is on professional experience, gearing up new artists for careers in the theatre. The Hangar will welcome approximately 25 artists to participate in the Lab Company this summer.
