Palo Alto Players Sets 2016-17 Season

Palo Alto Players, the Peninsula's first theatre company, announces its 86th season - 'From Stage to Screen and Back Again' - featuring a collection of plays and musicals whose time-honored stories have been theatrical hits both on stage and in film. The 2016-17 line-up, beginning September 2016, was unveiled Saturday, January 30 by Artistic Director Patrick Klein and Managing Director Diana Lynn Berenstein at the company's annual Season Announcement Party and includes Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID; THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK; A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD, A NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE; Monty Python's SPAMALOT and THE GRADUATE. All performances are held at the Lucie Stern Theater located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Subscriptions are on sale now online at www.paplayers.org or by phone at 650.329.0891. Individual tickets for the September show go on sale in August and for the remaining season beginning in October.

LABYRINTH Remake Moving Forward with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Scribe

Despite earlier reports that a sequel to the 1986 cult film LABYRINTH starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly had been stalled, The Hollywood Reporter now writes that Tri-Star and Jim Henson Co. have reached a deal to move forward with the project.

Jeepers Creepers, written by Marty's best-selling biographer Robert Ross, and starring David Boyle (Being Sellers, The Fool Who Dared to Dream) and Rebecca Vaughan (Austen's Women, I, Elizabeth), will premiere in a four-week season in the Lounge at Leicester Square Theatre from Monday 18 January - Saturday 20 February. Press nights: Wednesday 27 January at 7pm & Thursday 28 January at 7pm. MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT kommt ans Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck

Das Musical erzahlt in außerst ungewohnlicher Form die legendare Geschichte von Konig Artus und den Rittern der Tafelrunde. Es beruht auf der mittlerweile klassischen Filmkomodie Monty Python and the Holy Grail (deutscher Titel: Die Ritter der Kokosnuss), handelt von Rittern und ihren verqueren Heldentaten und „bietet eine Menge schoner Girls, Kuhe, Killerkaninchen und Franzosen", so Eric Idle. Das Grundungsmitglied des unvergleichlichen Monty Python-Teams hat die Filmhandlung fur das Musical verandert, bleibt aber dem schragen Monty-Python-Humor treu. Auch die Filmmusik wurde von ihm und John Du Prez fur das Musical umgearbeitet: teils neu komponiert, teils musikalisch aufgefrischt. Und das Wagnis, den eigenwilligen englischen Humor in die amerikanischste aller Kunstgattungen zu uberfuhren, wurde belohnt. In New York premierte MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT im Marz 2005, gewann drei Tony Awards, unter anderem den Tony Award fur das beste Musical und lief erfolgreich bis 2009. Auch in Australien und London wurde und wird SPAMALOT mit viel Erfolg gespielt.

Broadway Veterans Round Out Starry Cast of SPAMALOT at the Hollywood Bowl

BroadwayWorld has just confirmed the final casting for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python's Spamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005. Those joining the starry company are Broadway vets Kevin Chamberlin as Sir Bedevere, Tom Deckman as Not Dead Fred, and Rick Holmes as Sir Lancelot.

The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Monty Python'sSpamalot, the parody of the Arthurian Legend which won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005, will star Merle Dandridge as The Lady of the Lake, Warwick Davis as Patsy,Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Sir Robin, Eric Idle as the Historian and Craig Robinson as King Arthur. BT McNicholl will direct. Spamalot will be conducted by Todd Ellison and choreographed by Scott Taylor. Additional casting is to be announced.

Terry Jones' NICOBOBINUS to Premiere at LOST Theatre, Begin 11 Dec

Red Ladder Theatre Company and DumbWise present the world premiere stage adaptation of Monty Python Terry Jones' children's book, NICOBOBINUS. An adventurous family musical adaptation of the award-winning author's tale about the boy 'who could do anything', NICOBOBINUS premieres at LOST Theatre, Vauxhall from 11 December - 3 January 2015.
