DIRTY HIPPIE JAM BAND PROJECT Feat. Ann Harada Performs at Jerry Orbach Theater/Snapple Theater Center, 1/28

Bick Goss and Frank Evans, Producing Artistic Directors, continue their 2010 season of Theatrical Thursdays at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street. On Thursday, Jan 28, 2010, 6:30 PM, Musical Mondays revisits The Dirty Hippie Jam Band Project, the journey of a group of modern day hippies as they follow their favorite band across the country. Music is by Daniel Israel, Lyrics by Phoebe Kreutz and Book by Adam Mathias and Phoebe Kruetz.

Arden Theatre Company's 2009/10 children's theatre series begins with an all-new adaptation of Peter Pan. Ever since J.M. Barrie's story first appeared in 1904, countless versions have been produced on stage and in film. Now, Arden Children's Theatre presents a brand-new adaptation; one that celebrates the wonder of storytelling and the power of make-believe. Recommended for families with children ages five and older, every performance includes a post-show question and answer session with the cast, an opportunity to meet the cast in the lobby after the performance, and a free commemorative show poster for all kids. From the Equity Red Carpet entrance to a capacity crowd of theater and business celebrities, the stage was set for an evening of glamour and drama at this year's 15th Annual Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre Ceremony on Monday, October 5 at the Walnut Street Theatre. Presented by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, the black-tie ceremony, directed by Karen DiLossi, celebrated the work of local theatre artists as well as the vibrancy of the region's theatrical offerings with 26 awards.

Arden Theatre Company Names Edward Sobel As Associate Artistic Director

Arden Theatre Company announced Edward Sobel has been hired as Associate Artistic Director. Sobel previously was the Director of New Play Development at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, where he oversaw the development of more than 40 new plays including the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning drama August: Osage County.

Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival Announces Lineup

The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival (June Lindenmayer, Executive Director; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director) has announced the casting for the 2008 summer season of music, dance and theatre at the venerable performing arts camp and school in Steamboat Springs, CO. The 11th Annual New Works Festival begins workshops and classes June 11th, culminating June 20 - 22 with staged readings of the plays and a special dance presentation.
